"I can't believe that you're making us do this," Nico grumbled, following Annabeth with a box of ornaments. "Actually, Will volunteered you and himself." she reminded, rolling her eyes. Nico blushed, but argued back as he put the box down. "But you suggested it!" Annabeth gave him a smirk as she clapped her hands, facing the rest of the seven plus Will, Calypso, and Grover. "Let's get to work, guys!"
It had only been six minutes when they ran into their first problem. The Demeter cabin may or may not have forgotten to tell them that the tree was seventy feet tall. Nico snorted, and rolled his eyes, turning to Percy. "We're gonna need to get more ornaments, Water Boy." "Got it. Wise Girl?" he offers his hand to her, and rolling her eyes, takes it.
Thirty minutes later, they arrived with store-bought ornaments, and about thirty camp-made ones. "This is all we've got right now, so let's get to work!" Annabeth called. Nico opened the Hades cabin's box, and starts unloading the shiny gemmy balls with the pitch black ones. "You painted yours all black?" Will sighed, and Nico shrugs apologetically. Will stretches out a hand and helps put the black ones on the slightly higher branches, handing some off to a flying Jason so they could be put on the tree. "Hey, Frank, can you lift me up to help me-" Hazel is interrupted by Frank scooping her up onto his shoulder, and, blushing furiously, she puts up a goldfish ball. She kissed his cheek, and Frank nearly tripped. Leo snickered as he watched Frank try to speak, but Calypso shook her head at him.
Soon, the tree was covered with mechanical, beautiful, gem-like, black, bright, you-name-it, we-got-it, lights and ornaments. It was quite overwhelming. But even more so when Leo and Will unveiled the star that the Hephaestus and Apollo cabins had worked on. The star was blinding to say the least, and it shone with the sun and florescent light. Leo climbed up onto Festus, and helped Calypso up as the three took to the top of the tree, placing it onto the very top. They cheered as the huge dragon reached the ground once more, finally done. Percy kissed Annabeth, whispering into her ear, "I love you, Wise Girl." "I love you too, Seaweed Brain."
