Lily Evans was waiting patiently by the flower shop in the quiet street when the calm, peaceful air of the summer morning was interrupted by an almighty roar of engine. Perhaps the people in that neighbourhood weren't accustomed to such noise, for everyone jumped and looked around, terrified. Lily simply rolled her eyes, recognising the sound.

A second later, a motorbike zoomed into the street, leaving dust flying in its wake. As the dust cleared, Sirius Black came into view with his flawless hair and punk t-shirt, taking off his helmet in slow motion. Were it not for the exaggeratedly smug look on his face, the scene would have looked much like one of those out of the cinema.

Arms crossed before her, she walked to Sirius, who smiled at her. But moments later, his smile slipped from his face as his eyes fell over her attire.

"You stole my jacket," he accused her, watching the leather jacket that she was wearing. "I have been looking for it for ages – I even yelled at Remus because I have seen him eyeing it a few times. And all this time … it was with you?"

She shoved his arm playfully. "I took it yesterday, Sirius. Stop being so dramatic."

"You stole my jacket," he continued. "Nothing excuses such a heinous crime. You will have to pay for this terrible betrayal. Never could I imagine –"

As he went on rambling, Lily held out her hands which were holding a small bouquet of peonies. "How about this?"

He faltered to a stop and stared at the flowers in her hands suspiciously, as though waiting for a clown to pop out from between them.

"Don't you like them?" she pouted, pretending to look hurt. He accepted the flowers with a smile and kissed her cheek.

"Hop on."

She climbed into the motorbike behind him. "I told you not to bring this monster to our date, Sirius."

"This monster you speak of," he said, revving the engine, "is the love of my life. Anyone who speaks ill of my love shall face a terrible fate, ensured personally by me."

"I thought James was the love of your life."

Sirius paused, as though suddenly remembering that particular fact. "Well, he isn't speaking to me now because I accused him of stealing my jacket, so this motorbike has taken his place."

"And what about this jacket?" she teased. "For which you are yelling at everyone and threatening to murder them?"

"You talk too much, Lily," he stated flatly, and without giving her a chance to speak further, he started the motorbike and drove it down the road, causing dust to fly into the air and, as Lily suspected, leaving the people behind fuming at him.

It was their second month after graduation from Hogwarts. After spending seven years in the same castle with the same people, leaving school has left everyone feeling bittersweet. Moreover, there was Voldemort who has been instilling fear in everyone's hearts and who has even driven many to go on the run, which has caused the entire nation to be under constant fear of being killed or abducted. Professor Dumbledore has asked Lily and her friends to join an organisation created to fight Voldemort – the Order of the Pheonix – and with duties to attend nearly everyday, the new graduates have hardly found time to talk.
