You anchor me back down

"You said you'd help me!" Liam shouted angrily, flashing his blue eyes and claws drawn. So yeah, it was full moon again and the new beta still hadn't managed to control his shifting yet, which is why he was currently standing wolfed out in Derek's loft while the rest of the pack tried to get him to calm down. It wasn't going that well.

"I know, I am trying but I can't find your anchor, you have to do that on your own."

"How am I supposed to - " Screaming, he fell down to the ground in pain, covering his ears in a desperate attempt to block out the noise.

"Do something, it's not working." Kira spoke quietly.

"I don't know what to do." And that pretty much settled it then, or really, you had already made up your mind the second you got the call and found out what they were up to. You'd grown to like the latest member, and you couldn't stand to se him in pain for another second. Or for him to hurt anyone.

"Let me try."

"I don't-" Scott's protest was interrupted by his girlfriend.

"She'll be fine Scott, let her try."

"Okay just..be careful."

You nodded, and against your instincts, slowly walked over to the pup crouching on the floor, desperately trying to calm your heart down.

"Hey, Liam." You spoke softly, causing him to look up.

"I know this doesn't make a lot of sense right now, all these feelings eating at you at once. It's overwhelming. I need you to focus, you can do this, just look at me. Listen to my voice. You aren't going to hurt me. You aren't going to hurt anyone. You're not a monster. I'm not afraid of you. Come back to me, I know you can do it."

Gasping, you saw his face transforming back to the beautiful young boy he was, a whimper escaping his throat, making you hug him tightly.

"It's okay, you're okay. I'm right here. I knew you could do it." A soft laugh escaped you and you sighed in relief.

"Are you okay?" You broke the silence as you pulled back to look at him.

"Yeah. It's because of you."

"What?" You frowned in confusion.

"You brought me back, you did. I think, I've found my anchor." He grinned.

"It's you. It's always been you
