*Amber*

Sunlight bounced off of blonde curls as a girl walked across the yard carrying a tray filled with pastries and tea.

She stopped at a light blue garden shed, glancing inside. "Tea?"

"Yes, please," Came the replying sigh. An older, dark-haired woman stepped out of the little shed, puling off her dirt-caked garden gloves.

The younger walked over to a small bench which overlooked a large field.

Setting the tray on the bench, she began to pour two cups of tea as her companion came to join her.

"Thank you, Odelle." The older remarked, accepting a cup and saucer.

Odelle sat down on the opposite end of the bench. "Are you finished planting?"

Her friend answered the question with a nod. "I should have gotten them all into the ground weeks ago." She scolded herself.

"Amber," The blonde chastised, "They will be ready in time. We will make sure of that."

"You know," Amber began, taking a bite of cookie, "that it takes 7 to 10 years for fir trees to mature for Christmas."

"When you cannot use magic." Odelle reminded her, taking a sip of tea. "You and I can have them ready to harvest between now and the first week of December."

Amber looked out at the field, at the little green sprigs already popping up above soil.

"Are they going to sell in the shop?"

The elder blew on her tea, attempting to cool it. "I believe I'll advertise at the shop, begin accepting preorders sometime next week. Whatever is left will go to a small market space."

"I can cover the market if you'd like to stay at the shop."

"I appreciate the offer, but Dianna is more than capable of taking care of the shop." She chuckled. "Maybe she can even convince Grant to help her."

Odelle smiled at the sentiment. "Are you planning any arrangements for the future?"

"Possibly," Amber laughed, and flowers seemed to spout around the pair as the sound reached the grass.
