A pretty blonde woman stepped into the dark and mostly deserted bar.
Her glitzy cocktail dress twinkled and sparkled below her white fur coat as she made her way to the bartender.
"Merry Christmas." The man smirked.
She chuckled to herself before looking up at the wall of alcohol behind him.
"What's your flavor?" He asked, his eyes roaming down her skimpy, sparkling outfit.
"Whiskey, the blue label." She answered, pulling her wallet out of her long fur coat.
He turned around and brought the bottle down.
She flipped through her cash, pulling out a handful of bills. "Two-glasses please."
"Rocks?"
She shook her head, setting the cash down on the bar.
He set two crystal glasses in front of her, retrieving the cash as he set the bottle down as well.
Taking the bottle and both glasses, she wandered over to a table in the far corner of the bar.
Setting the bottle down in front of a man already seated in the shadows, "The Devil walks into a bar ..." she set both glasses down before sliding into a seat.
The man took the bottle of whiskey, opening it and pouring some into each of their glasses. "I'm not in the mood, Lilith."
"I suppose a demon walked into a bar," She continued as though he hadn't spoken. "The devil was already there, waiting."
"I would hardly say that I was waiting for you." He snapped as he passed her glass back to her. "I did not invite you to join me."
"No, Lucifer, I was just supposed to leave you to your pity party." She slipped out of her coat. "It is Christmas after all."
"I am a fallen angel, Lilith." He sighed. "This is just the birthday of yet another brat my father created."
"Do you know how long it was before I realized that you don't even celebrate your own birthday?" Lilith asked, "Nearly a century."
"That's because you are terrible at caring about anyone besides yourself."
She waved it off. "Are you planning to drink your way through December?"
"It beats celebrating." He poured himself another drink.
"You could pretend it has nothing to do with some awful human kid. Go be with your brothers or something."
"The one that doesn't hate me?"
"It has been more than a few centuries, they have moved on." She polished off her own drink.
He poured her second drink as he prepared to pour a third for himself.
"The girls miss you."
"The girls have lives. Are they even together for Christmas?"
"You should go find out. Sydney is talking about going back to school. Zephyr's family began decorating."
"Zephyr goes by Zoe now, something about the 'times'."
"See, you do have family to spend the holidays with."
"What about your daughter, Lil?"
"Away on holiday with Michael." She fished a pack of cigarettes out of her coat.
"What are your plans?" He asked her.
"Hole up in some fancy hotel with some man who has no clue who or what I am."
"So that's a great plan for you but not for me?"
""You come from a big family, Lucifer." She lit a cigarette before passing him the pack. "You have accumulated a big family since leaving your original one. Holidays should be spent together, especially with big families."
He ruffled his messy blonde hair with his fingers. "Shall we finish the bottle or would you like me to rush off right now?"
She shrugged. "Might as well finish the bottle. My plans aren't supposed to start for a few hours. There is this new application on my cell phone that allows me to find a date in a few moments. I no longer have to go out and mingle."
He looked at her incredulously. "We are immortal beings who can seduce anyone we desire."
"Yes, I know." Lilith finished her cigarette.
"Then why are you utilizing this strange computer program?"
"Perhaps I have grown lazy in my old age." She sighed, "They come to me this way."
"They have always come to you, my dear." He glanced up as a waitress attempted to come by the table. He quickly waved her off. "Especially when you were a prostitute for that century."
"It was not a century."
"I am rounding up." He rose from the table. "I am also rounding this night down. Go have fun with your 'fuck boys', I believe the term is."
She laughed, smiling up at him as he pulled on his coat. "Go, have a good time with your 'daughters' I believe the term is."
"Happy Holidays, Lilith."
"Happy Holidays, Lucifer."
