Cherry Blossoms

I stood in the middle of a million cherry blossoms.

Each blooming flower held something unique.

And special.

And beautiful.

They danced the air and floated slowly down.

They danced so long I thought it would last forever.

It didn't last forever.

It was so painfully short that it felt like my lungs were ripped out when she disappeared.

But it wasn't too short.

It was too long.

But too short.

Long enough that I got to know her.

To laugh with her.

To love her.

But it was too short.

Forever is too short.

I wasn't good enough for forever.

The cherry blossoms float to the ground too quickly.

They're all so indescribably beautiful.

Beautiful things die the quickest.

They die so fast.

If you blink once,

They disappear.

Forever.

She was a cherry blossom.
