I don't know what led me to get up and doing something.
I would like to think that perhaps at the back of my mind, she was there and told me to get up and so something, but a more realistic reason was the fact that I ran out of Cheez-Its.
I really don't like being hungry.
So I got up and walked like a zombie toward the fridge.
As I walked, a picture caught my eye.
It was a picture of her.
She really hated being in pictures, so I took one while she wasn't looking.
It was a side view of her face while she was eating strawberry ice cream.
It was beautiful.
Her long locks of golden-brown hair almost covered her deep brown eyes, and the sun was shining in a way that made her almost glow.
At that moment, I was proud to be her partner.
Then I realized she was gone.
It was like it happened all over again, but clearer.
My chest hurt. It burned.
I could feel a lump in my throat and my vision getting blurry.
I cried for the first time since she disappeared from my life.
