Chapter 1 - The Ceremony

Earth. Earth was the only planet currently in the vast universe known as Sector 302. No one knows of other universes out there. If there even are any more out there.

The year was 3025, and all life as we know was pretty normal at that moment, despite the upgraded technology. All that ruckus that robots would become smarter than humans, and would destroy the whole world was all a lie. In other words, they haven't killed us yet. If RiverBrick Productions would have stopped producing these laughable failures considered 'robots', then maybe those words said would've never become true.

Anyway, without me getting sidetracked, it was the day where I would have my ceremony. The 'Electroidal' ceremony, and be the first person to legitimately visit outside of Earth and obtain my gear to become an Electroid. A real electroid. I was beaming with excitement.

To be one of the first people to actually travel outside of our atmosphere is a very big accomplishment. Who knows what kind of fame I would have? National television, on the radio, in magazines, it would be amazing. There was no time to focus on those thoughts, though, I had to get ready. Ready for my big moment.

I rushed to the private employee locker room and got into my clothes, which I had specially prepared for the occasion, and did my hair as best as I could. Curly locks are hard to deal with, y'know? My navy blue suit was shining, and so was my smile. I brushed my teeth about 10 times that day out of sheer nervousness and excitement. What would my boss think of my appearance? He was extremely nit-picky, so I tried my best to look as professional as possible. I hopped into my little car, and drove a few miles to where the ceremony was being held.

I walked into the big building to see a professional, beautiful, royalty-like lobby. The lobby employee greeted me with such manners, and I gave him my ticket my boss purchased for me 3 days before. The employee thanked me, and I walked up these stunning, mind-blowing red carpet like stairs. There weren't many, but it was a beautiful, slightly spiral staircase. I walked into a hallway that looked as pretty as the lobby. I looked at the room to my left, and it said 'Auditorium' That must be it, I thought. That's where I go in, hopefully.

It was exactly where my ceremony was. There was a big banner on the stage that said 'Congratulations!' and a smaller banner below it that read 'Electroidal Ceremony' in bold letters. I was completely baffled. I slowly made my way down the little ramp that was the seat-separator, until someone stopped me. He looked like a guard. I stiffened, not knowing what he was gonna say or do to me. To my surprise, he got a big smile on his face.

"You go over here." He said to me quietly. The guard pointed to the left, which was a walkway to a small staircase by the stage. I thanked him happily, and started walking down to the stage.

On my way to the stage I was greeted by multiple people congratulating and surprising me with gifts and presents. And there I am, now standing at the edge of the staircase leading to the bright, shiny stage. My mind is consumed of thoughts like of how proud my parents would be if they were here. I think to myself of all of the nice things that have happened to me in my life. And not once did I think this would be one of them.

I look up at the staircase and begin to make my way up to the stage. Nervousness, regret, excitement, confidence and other emotions take me by surprise as I look out at the crowd. It seemed to be a million tiny little bugs all sitting and watching me. Me! An awkward, nerdy guy being proudly watched by thousands. I didn't know what to feel. I was introduced to the people by the CEO of Electroid Technology, Mr. Perez, who was standing on the stage with a huge smile.

"Ladies and gentlemen, may I please have your attention?" Mr. Perez said into the microphone. The chatter suddenly went away to quiet sounds of some shuffling, a cough, and other subtle noises like that. "I am proud to present to you Parzival Joseph Walterson!"

The crowd went INSANE as I walked up onto the stage. I waved to the crowd awkwardly. In complete nervousness I stuttered and said what my mind told me.

"Ladies and gentlemen! Uhm, thank you for coming and supporting me during this outstanding event. This is a huge accomplishment for me and I never thought I would make it this far! I would just like to thank all of you for the support and the love." I cleared my throat. What the heck was I saying? To make up for what I said because I thought it was a disaster, I showed a smile and said, "This is truly such an honor."

Mr. Perez quickly took the microphone from my trembling hands and loudly announced, "We shall now bring out the trophy and the contract to sign!" The crowd went wild again. Mr. Perez came back and handed me the trophy and the paperwork. A projector then showed on the large white screen behind me of me signing the paperwork and accepting the trophy. And a view of me signing on the small brown table in front of me. I begin reading what the paper had to say and the crowd started getting louder and louder and louder. I finish reading the paper, and my pen touches the paper. This is it. The moment everyone has been waiting for. I start to write out my signature, and the crowd went the loudest I have ever heard. Though, right when I finished, something unimaginable happened that no one saw coming. It was the start of the craziest, most bizarre adventure I have had in my life.
