Chapter 10 - My First Battle

I had never fought anyone. Not in school, because I was a huge nerd and still am, and never in my teenage years. It was just kind of useless to me. I mean, why would I physically hurt someone else? It would put a huge pit of guilt into me that I probably could never recover from, no matter what they did to me. I'd use words. I'd shout and yell, but I would never put up a physical fight. My conscience would always stop me before I let my fist hit their face.

Until now. Jupiter had a look on his face that said 'Fight me.' Being kind of scrawny at the time, I'm sure he felt that it wasn't a big deal... He was right, I didn't fight at all.

Venus got into a fighting position with her hands out, as something would spawn from them. I looked confused. Was something really going to appear in her hands? That just seemed silly.

Until something obviously did. It was fire. Fire rose from her hands, and the room started to smell a bit like burning alien flesh. I can't describe it. Just, it smelled bad. Gross, I thought.

Venus apparently noticed, and whispered to me, "The smell will go away." I nodded and looked at Jupiter, who looked about ready to charge at me. Oh no. He's going to go full power on me, isn't he?

"Come," Jupiter started in a whisper, "at," he got a bit louder, "ME!" Charging at me, he seemed to form a small tornado. He got ready to launch it at me. Not being able to think that quickly, I was knocked back almost across the whole entire room. I got back up and he sent another whirlwind to me. Luckily, this time I dodged it. Sort of. My arm was slammed into the wall. Venus shot some fire at Jupiter, but it got mixed with the wind. The fire-tornado was coming for me.

I froze up, not thinking. I watched as it got closer and closer. The heat got stronger and stronger, the red, orange and smoky figure was getting bigger.

"MOVE!" Venus screamed.

Not thinking at all, my adrenaline took over me and I put my foot against the wall. The fire was about 15 inches from me, as I pushed off the wall and ran, ran straight back to venus just so I could ask what to do next. As I was running, jupiter launched another whirlwind of flames at me. Not knowing what to do, I jumped to the side, only for the swirling death to barely miss me. Missed me, but knocked me down, which gave jupiter the perfect chance to hit me.

"Come on Parzival! Keep moving!" As soon as she said it I jumped right back on my feet. I need to fight back, I have to have some sort of skill or instinct that will kick in and allow me to fight, I thought to myself, I stood still for just a second and started to feel something inside. What was it? Courage, Bravery, or my adrenaline making me look like a lunatic. I gathered up my strength, remembering I have boosters on my pack. And I jumped, flew right above jupiter, fell, and hit him. Directly in the nose, I hit him. He was knocked down, and he had faced defeat.

"Ok, you win." He said is agony. "What do you want me to do!?" I looked up and thought of things to do. I whispered to venus, "Should we ask him to join us?" I asked. "No! That's a horrible idea, did you see how he fought you!?" She yelled at me, not realizing the point. "Exactly! If he fought me like that, emagine what he could do to others." I emphasized. Venus turned away and thought about it for a minute and then turned back. "Alright, we'll try, but if he tries to fight us again, he's cut.' Got that!?" she said with a pretty good point. "Understood." I said. She made a very good point, and yeah, what will happen if he tries to fight us? I need to be prepared for that day. I need to start training more, gather all of my courage, energy, and strength. And release my inner electroid...
