Broken Soul

Chapter 1

Adelaide

"Ughk! This is not helping, Meredith! We have tried for days now! If he or she isn't ready then they're not ready" i say to my midwife Meredith. She puts her hands on her hips and scowls at me. "Just because i have been telling you to do it for days doesn't mean you have tried to do it for days! Now come on. Keep going"I huff and squat down again.

My legs are hurting from all these exercises. I am now two weeks late. I am worried but i dont let it show. I hope my baby is okay. I gulp. My baby has to be okay. I carres my big belly. "Don't worry honey. I am sure your child is fine. It is winter after all. Maybe your baby just doesn't want out in this cold weather" Meredith smiles kindly at me.

She may be a mean when i dont do as she tells me to but she is nice. She has been with me since i got pregnant. Helped me with my food and kept me healthy for my baby. She has been treated me like her own daughter and i couldn't be more grateful for her. "Let's stop for today. Go have some fun with your kids and husband" she nods her head toward Dominic and Max playing with the kids outside in the snow.

My heart fills when i look at all of them. Not only Zach, Madeline and Daniel. All the kids from the kingdom. After the war ten years ago many had been wounded and many grieved for the loss. but it made everyone closer. Everything got better. I have never been happier in my life. I have everything i could ever ask for.

I nod and smile at Meredith. She smiles at me and leaves the room. I grab my coat and walk outside. "Mommy!!" Madeline screams and runs toward me. I get down and hug her. "Look! Look what i made!" She shows me a giant snowball in her small hands. "Wow! That's quite big for a little girl like you" i tease her. "Mommy i am not a little girl! I am turning eleven soon!!" She scowls at me. "I know baby, you're a big girl" i pat her on the head.

She grabs my hand. "You have to see the snowman we are making! He is bigger than daddy!" She drags me toward everyone. A child is sitting on Dominic's shoulder and placing a carrot in the center of the gigantic snowman. Dominic turns his head toward me and smiles at me. "Mommy!!" Zach rund toward me when he sees me.

When the kid places the carrot in the center everyone claps and cheers. They have been working on this snowman for hours, i am shivering just thinking about being in this cold for so long. Dominic places the kid down and walks toward me. "Hey baby" he leans down to kiss my lips. "Fuck! You are ice cold!" I move away from his face. He raises his brows at me. "Naughty mommy! You can't say those words! Santa won't visit you if you are naughty" Madeline says protectively. "Sorry" i apologize.

Flop! Zach throws a snowball at Madeline. "Zach!!!!" She screams and runs after him with her too big to throw snowball. Dominic gets closer and places both his hands on my both sides on my waist. "Naughty momma, huh? Santa will give you a real nice visit later" He smirks at me. I feel my whole body heat. He looks down at my lips and leans in. Just when our lips are about to touch he stops. "Later" he winks at me and leans his mouth to my ear. "Its cold, get inside and wait for me" he gently bites my ear, turns around and leaves.
