The Griers

A/n: sorry I haven't been updating! I have had a really busy summer 😁 but I'm back now! keep voting and commenting☺️

I woke up at 10:50 the next morning.  I had just finished setting up the final touches on my room.  The walls were a light grey with white trim, so it matched my light pink comforter and my light blue pillows.  

I took a shower, then put on a pair of black Nike athletic shorts and my t-shirt i had gotten from a recent ice skating competition (I had been skating as long as i remember, since my mom was my coach).  

I headed downstairs to see what the rest of my family was doing.  "Good Morning, Anna!" My mom said.  there were waffles on the table and i immediately sat down to eat.

"Wow, these are good! wheres Caroline?" I said.

"She went to the grocery store to grab some food for tonight." My dad replied with a smile.

"whats tonight?" I asked nervously.

"Oh! were having the next door neighbors over for dinner! You will like them, they have a son your age!" My mom said smiling like she was in some sort of weird mom pageant or something. scary.

"Oh, cool." i said. i didn't want to tell her that I had already met Hayes, because i thought she would get the wrong idea.

Caroline walked in as soon as i said that. good, now they cant ask any more questions.

I helped put the groceries away and headed up to my room.  I had just pulled out my laptop to see if i had any new emails when Caroline walked in. "I'm going to the mall, wanna come?" she asked.

"Sure" anything to keep me from not freaking out about tonight.

I put on my RVCA socks and my black converse. On the way out I grabbed my wallet and my cell phone.  I hopped into the car and turned on the radio, hoping that Caroline wouldn't ask any questions.

"So, can you believe that we are having the GRIERS over for dinner?" Caroline practically screamed with enthusiasm.

"Yeah, so cool." I said and sort of smiled to myself.

Caroline looked at me quite suspiciously, "Whats your deal?" she asked.

Oh no.  "What? Nothing... Okay fine.  I already met Hayes." I said.

"Oh I see, you LIKE HIM!" She said in a singing voice.I looked at her very seriously and she backed off. "Okay, whatever you say."

At the mall I picked out a short black dress with daisy details from PAC SUN to wear to dinner.  I put my hair in a side fishtail braid, put on my dress, and added my brown strapped sandals.

I walked downstairs to help set the table.  My mom told me that they were arriving at 6:00, so i had 30 minutes.  I walked down the stairs to the basement which had a TV in it.  I logged in to Netflix and started to watch my favorite TV show, The Vampire Diaries.  

A vampire was in a fight with a hunter and just as the vampire bit the hunter, something grabbed me.

"Ahhhhhhh!" i screamed.  I turned around to see Hayes laughing really hard.

"You scared me!" I said while hitting him with a pillow.

Hayes walked around the couch and sat next to me. "Why are all teenage girls into this crap? There not even hot." Hayes said while starring at the TV.

"Are you kidding? He's hotter than you'll ever be." I said. 

"ouch!" Hayes said while putting two hands over his heart.

"who else is here?" I asked?

"My mom, Skylynn, and Nash." He answered.

"OMG, THE NASH GRIER!" I said pretending to be a fan girl. Hayes just shook his head.

"Well, your mom told me that the food is ready" Hayes told me. 

"Oh okay, lets go." 

We walked up the stairs and sat at the table.  My mom always made seating arrangements and unfortunately Hayes and i were the farthest away.

We talked for awhile and every time i looked over at Hayes he was already looked at me.  The second i looked at him he turned away.

At the end of the night we all said goodbye.  My mom was still talking to Elizabeth when Hayes came up to me. It was nice to see you again Anna."

"You too." We said goodnight and i went down to the basement where i had left my phone.  Next to it was a little slip of paper.

text me later (***) ****-**** -Hayes

I put hayes' number in my contacts and went to my room.

"I saw the way he looked at you." I heard Caroline say behind me.

"What." 

"Oh come on Annie, he totally likes you."

"I don't think so."

"we will see..." And with that she left.

I sat down and decided to text Hayes.

Me: Hey, its Anna.

Hayes: I Kinda figured

Me: HAHA i kind of expected that you would have like 10000000000 girls text you

Hayes: I like to keep my number a secret from the fans, but if you sell my phone number i will hunt you down!

Me: Darn! I really wanted those new shoes!

Hayes and I  talked for a while. I went to bed with a smile on my face.I had always been the girl that nobody ever thought twice of, why would someone like Hayes grier like me. even the thought of it was crazy.
