Natalia woke up the next morning, smiled, and then widened her eyes and grimaced. She reached for her phone thinking over and over again, "please let last night not have been a dream," she pressed contacts and exhaled in relief when she saw his number at the top, unsaved but still there because she had been texting it. She quickly saved him as "Zayn Malik <3 :)".
Life was so good. She rolled over and held her phone to her happily beating chest. She was so happy. Everything was absolutely perfect.
"NATALIA, GET UP NOW." Her dad banged on her door.
"EW." Natalia yelled back simply. She waited for his footsteps before checking for inbox. And then she died. And came back to life. And then died again. Because Zayn had texted her. Before reading it she quickly texted Gaby and Isa, "you guys HAVE to come over today idc if you have to sneak out (cough cough Isa) but its an emergency. Come at like four but come thru the back because I don't think I'm allowed visitors. ;) x" Okay, Natalia thought, what does this beautiful boy have to say to me? She opened the text and read "Hey Natalia, good morning ! :) x x" She pressed reply and said "Good morning , Zayn! What's up ? :)".
Getting out of bed , she headed to the bathroom. Hopefully he replies by the time I'm out of the shower , she thought. Taking her time to sing all her favourite songs, she finished her shower twenty minutes later. When she got back to her room and was drying her hair, her phone buzzed. She lunged at it and opened the text. "Nothing really, me & the boys are having McDonalds for lunch. Niall misses Nando's aha :) what about you? x" "Awhh! I wish we had Nando's here :( and i just woke up haha, i have nothing to do today D:" She pressed send and got dressed .
Turning on her laptop, Natalia played "I Want" which was one of her favourite songs from the Up All Night album . She put the volume all the way up thinking, "I'm already in trouble, who cares what my parents think?" She put on orange shorts and a loose white shirt with an aquamarine bandeau under. That was another one of Natalia's best qualities. She had a really good sense of style.
Her phone buzzed and Natalia jumped for it. But it was Gaby calling her. "Hey, you wanna tell me what's going on?" Gaby said the second Natalia picked up. She didn't even have time to say "hello?" "You're coming over later, I have too much to tell you guys." "Do you honestly think Isa's parents have made it easy for her to sneak out? They've pretty much nailed every door down. You got her in a lot of trouble, Natalia." Ouch. Natalia? She always calls me Nati, oh man. Nati thought. How much trouble had Isa gotten in!? "How long is she grounded for?" "The rest of the summer." Gaby replied. "Ugh." was all Nati could think to say. Are they both mad at me? She thought. Great, now who can I tell? I need them. "I have an idea though." Gaby said. "I'll tell my mom to call your mom & Isa's mom to come over for lunch and tell them to bring you guys because she doesn't know you guys are grounded. And if your parents say no, I'll tell my mom to beg. So whatever you have to tell us better be really important." "Oh my gosh, yes, Gaby! Thanks! I promise it is. I'm sorry you guys have to do all this for me. I love you guys." "We love you too." Gaby finally sounded like she was smiling. "Okay, I'll see you later then?" Natalia quickly said when her phone buzzed again. Zayn was probably texting her. "Yeah, you will." Gaby laughed. "Okay! I gotta go." Nati rushed. "Wait, Nati-" Whoops, too late. Whatever it was could wait for later cuz Zayn was texting her.
"Aww, you're gonna be so bored :( do you wanna come hang out with me and the boys ? :) we were thinking about going to the mall or something." She died. Once again. She was in HEAVEN. Natalia grabbed her pillow and just screamed into it. What in the world was going on. Okay, Zayn was inviting her to hang out at the mall with him. It was perfect. She pressed reply and typed, "okay! I would love to :) what time? x" and was about to press send when she could hear her mom's voice in the kitchen talking on the phone. "You know she's not supposed to go out, but I guess it's fine since it's you. Do you want me to bring anything? Okay then, we'll come in a while." Crap. It had only been three minutes and Natalia had forgotten about her plans with Gaby and Isa. Feeling her heart break into little pieces, she erased what she wrote and sent, "oh i'm so sorry :( my mom just told me we were gonna go somewhere literally two seconds ago. I would love to but i can't. :( but we're still on for Friday, right? :) xx" "WHHHHHHYYYYY." she yelled out loud. She put her phone in her back pocket and walked into the kitchen where her mom was.
