The sound of Up All Night playing loudly in her ear woke Nati up. Her eyes fluttered open and she moved her head to look up at Zayn, who had coincidentally woken up right then too. Their eyes locked and Zayn smiled a wide smile. They looked at eachother for a little too long and for a second, Natalia thought he was gonna kiss her. But then, the car stopped.
"Yes, we're here!" Niall yelled.
"Wooooo!" All the boys yelled in unision.
Nati sat up and adjusted her shirt. Zayn passed her her bag and she checked her texts. She almost considered turning off her phone without reading them but then she rememered the last time she did that and getting grounded. But then again, it kinda turned out to be a good thing. She quickly replied to Isa and Gaby and texted her mom that they had gotten there.
They all got out and went toward the entrance. They did all of the things you have to go through before entering a theme park and they were in. As soon as they got in, Natalia saw the biggest rollercoaster and pointed at it, saying "I wanna go on that one!" All of the boys looked at her like she was insane and she half regretted bursting out with that. But who cared? She was at a freaking theme park with One Direction. Nothing mattered.
"You sure?" Zayn mumbled.
"Yeah." Nati beamed up at him.
She looked around at their faces which were giving Zayn a funny look.
"Alright, then let's go!" Zayn laughed.
"What?!" All the boys said.
"Zayn, you hate rollercoasters." Liam said.
"You never go on them even when we beg you too." Louis added.
"Yeah, but-" Zayn started.
"But? I've tried getting you on so many, bro," Niall said.
"Well, um-" Zayn tried again. He threw Nati a quick glance.
"Liam, does this mean what I think it means?" Louis smirked. Nati looked at Harry, who had thrown up his hand in a "hold on now" kinda way.
"Lou, stop." Zayn said quietly.
"I think it means exactly what you think it means." Liam winked.
"Wait, what?" Nati asked, struggling to keep up.
Louis and Liam exchanged a look. Niall started laughing his legendary laugh. Zayn looked mortified.
"What?" Nati asked again. If they were making fun of Zayn, she wanted to join in and maybe use it as a flirting strategy. But it kind of seemed like they were making fun of her too.
"Guys, leave him alone. Niall let's go over to the food shop and see what they have. Boys, come on." Harry gestured in the other direction and started walking. Nati caught his eye and he gave her a smile that was one part apologegic and two parts "i just save your life".
"You know we're only messing, mate." Louis said before walking over with Harry. They all said a little good-bye before walking away.
"I still don't get it." Nati said, shaking her head.
Zayn was silent. Wordlessly, he reached over and grabbed her hand. Her pulse quickened. Slipping his fingers between hers, he looked down at her, smiled, and said, "Let's just go have some fun."
