Last chapter. Also, IPF is not real but I goddamn wanted it to have a backstory so AJ will explain what the fuck this idea of mine actually is.
~Eko.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I SLOWLY LEAVE the plane. It's oddly fitting that I would have to, because of a case, leave my country and go to Finland out of all places. And out of all the days to come? It's the sixth of December.
"Hey!"
Without a second to waste, Echo lifts me up. I hyena screech out of pure instinct.
"Put me down you—."
"Oh is the midget threatening me?"
I sigh and change my position so Echo has to drop me due to my position putting a lot of weight on a certain spot, meaning they can't hold me.
"AJ.... how the fuck did you plan to survive with that on?"
"I mean I heard it was cold so—."
Echo starts screeching with laughter.
"AJ! Okay, you can borrow mine. That isn't getting you nowhere."
Echo gets their coat off.
"Y'all are as stupid as each other. One of the coldest countries on the planet and y'all come with less than y'all probably need in autumn over here since your country is so warm. Anything you can use in your country when it gets 'cold' over there, isn't enough here."
I roll my eyes.
"Really?"
"Look out the window."
I look out to see snow, a lot of it. I've never seen it in person!
"That thing is COLD."
I laugh but Echo literally forces the coat on me.
"Thank me later, midget!"
I roll my eyes and I take my bag, to which Echo responds by leading me to a checkup that is between Europe, Finland and others.
"Okay, I'll just walk the Finland route, you can go that one and ones you show your papers, you'll get through."
I nod and walk to it. When it's my turn, the woman starts speaking a terribly angry sounding language.
"Ma'am," I say, suddenly feeling very small with how angry she looks.
"Oh sorry. Passport, please. And papers."
I nod and show them.
"Oh, Okay, move on then. Hopefully you can get on top of this case you have."
I nod and leave out of the gate. As soon as I see I'm outside, I let out a deep breath.
"Finnish sounds so angry!" I tell Echo.
"Not really, it's the fact we put pressure on a different place in a sentence. Someone use to English or Spanish or Swedish might not understand that even when we're polite, the placement of the strongest word makes it seem like we're angry."
I nod and we leave towards the front, as soon as the outside air hits me, I start shaking to shit.
"I told you."
Echo just shrugs it off and leads me towards their granny's car. Which is very confusing. A hoodie and they're not shaking? What the fuck is wrong with these people?
"Hey AJ! My grandchild has told me a lot!"
I sit at the back.
"How cold is it?" I ask.
They both laugh.
"Probably -4 to -6 Celsius. It's really nothing today," Echo says.
"WE DO NOT GO BELOW TEN!"
The two of them laugh again.
"Come on, here is the case file for what we have now."
I take the file from Echo's granny, looking through it slightly.
"Fuck," I mutter.
Echo nods, everyone looks very saddened.
So in it's most basic way, this is absolutely horrifying."
I nod, looking down. So what this basically is... someone who took care of two kids who were both abused in their younger years, was murdered. And as there is a possibility international help might help, the case was put up on IPF (which is not the illness nor the weight lifting association. International police force, which actually has 83 nations in it. These including all of the kingdom of Great-Britain, Republic of Ireland, Republic of Finland, Kingdom of Sweden, Republic of Philippines, about 40 of the states in United States of America, as well as all countries under British rule today. This being a very small part of International Police Force but having the first to join and the makers of the whole paper. As it was Kingdom of Sweden and Republic of Finland to bring the idea on the table, getting most of these countries in. When the first state to join, Virginia, joined in, Philippines went 'hey we want a bit of this action' and joined as the first Asian country. Currently there is a suggestion to make it a law for all of the states to become apart of this association and many country are looking into becoming a part of this association in the next ten years after the more efficient way to go through these crimes came clear and the fact this organisation isn't discriminatory. If it's impossible to send forces, it will be checked where these forces have gone and if forces were send somewhere else. Communication between the countries is at the top of it's game and nothing can be kept a secret from the other countries involved. If there is a murder and there is a next suspect, the information will break out to all of the countries taking apart in the investigation, nothing can be kept hidden unless you talk directly to ONE officer that doesn't feel the need to share, that being in cases where the matter is personal. And when it comes to communication languages, for now it's English but we are looking into working with a trustable company to make a working translator between most of the worlds languages. So for now, France, Japan and Sweden are on that one with Spain and Italy, looking into ways to make all languages understandable enough. Considering Russia and China have refused to take part in IPF.... which is understandable. The Korea's aren't apart either and say that they aren't going to until they can be sure that it won't lead into worse conflict between the two countries.)
"You in on the case?"
"Absolutely! Let's do this!"
