It doesn't happen all that often, but in their line of work, it's inevitable that one of them gets hurt.
It's accepted by the entire team that it's a mostly okay situation when it's Bai Yutong that is hurt, because while Zhan Yao worries over him, and will sit by his bedside in the hospital until Yutong wakes up, Zhan Yao is at least calm and reasonable, and will not take his frustration and worry out on any of them. Zhan Yao has this habit of holding onto Yutong's hand during those times, so that he knows immediately when Yutong gains consciousness, even if Zhan Yao somehow falls asleep in the middle of his vigil.
There are probably a lot of sappy hand kisses when Yutong wakes up. Yutong will probably try to laugh his injuries off, but them sombre up when Zhan Yao tells him how worried he was because Bai Yutong put himself in very unnecessary danger again. Yutong probably ends up saying something sappy like, "Don't worry, Kitten, I won't let anything too bad happen to myself. My life isn't just mine anymore, it's also yours."
Bai Yutong has No Chill when Zhao Yao is hurt. He will snap at anyone who comes near. And god help whoever it is that put Zhao Yao in the hospital in the first place, because once Yutong has made sure that Zhan Yao is out of immediate danger, his number one priority switches to I'm going to make that bastard pay. It's a fucking lawsuit waiting to happen, but no-one stops Bai Yutong from snarling the perp into submission in the interrogation room.
He always makes it back before Zhan Yao wakes up, though. Always makes it a point to be the first face Zhan Yao sees when he wakes up, knows that Zhan Yao likes seeing Bai Yutong first. He always has to steal a kiss (or a dozen) to remind himself that Zhan Yao is fine, that he's okay, that Yutong managed to protect him in the end anyway.
