(Elizabeth's p.o.v)
I slid down the wall as I stop banging at the door I was ready to just give up, no ones gonna help us,  we're in the middle of no where with no connection with the police or anybody. That's when the door opens making a creaking noise. There stood a older man probably in his late 50's or 60's, he was wearing a white tank, brown pants and black shoes.

"What is all the noice" he yelled loud enough to wake the neighbors but in this situation there isn't any, he had a country type of accent. He looked around the area until he saw me and Veronica on the floor, he went from a mad look to a smirk appearing on his face.

"What are you two little ladies doing down there?" He asked with that smirk still on his face. I felt creeped out and scared, Veronica grab hold to my hand and squeezed it hard.
"We are just a-about to leave, come on Roni"
I grab her and help her up. We start to walk but he grabs hold of my shoulder and makes me stop.
"Now hold on little lady, looks like you an friend are hurt"

"I-i-its nothing really we should go so we don't bother you any longer"
I tried to move but he wouldn't let go of my shoulder.
"None sense, little lady, I haven't introduced myself, where are my manners, I'm sheriff Hoyt, and you two are?"
I was to scared to say anything, what if he's lying and is saying that to kidnap us, I just stared at him without breaking eye contact.
"I'm Veronica and this i-i-is Elizabeth."
You had to be so nice Veronica, it's probably why she's my best friend. She probably felt bad that I was being picked on. I was getting lost in my thoughts, when I got snapped out of my thoughts by

"I asked a question young lady"
"I-I-I-I'm Sorry Mr I got d-d-d-distracted"
Why did I have to stutter.
"I asked if you were lost?"
"S-s-s-sort of sir"
"Well you're in luck, I happen to be the only close sheriff here" he chuckled that last part. I'm to scared to even think but he does have a point, we are lost and we don't know where to go, and he did say he is a sheriff, but my gut tells me the opposite so I do the next thing which was to follow my gut.

"Look sir we are really ok we might as well start walking until we get to the nearest town, Plus we're not hurt that bad so if you excuse us we are leaving, thank you for the help anyway.
I move my shoulder away from his hand and drag Veronica with me.
"You two are gonna regret it"
Me being the 'sassy' person I respond
"No we are not"
That is when he yells inside the building.
"BOY WE GOT SOME FOR YOU...MAKE IT TWO REWARDS!"

We both look back and that's when I hear the noise of a motor being turned on, and then it started making the noise of a all to familiar chainsaw. My eyes widen as I see a taller person come out of the building with a chainsaw in its hand, i hear Roni scream and adrenaline kick in me. We start to sprint into the direction of the woods. I can still hear the chainsaw and the person behind us running and yelling at us. My legs were starting to give up and my breathing was coming out as pants. Veronica was also getting tired she would sometimes fall half way but i would catch her before she hits the floor. I wasn't looking where we are going so we are probably lost by now. I was getting exhausted, I closed my eyes for a second and next thing I knew I hit the ground.
"Eliza, get up please, before he gets closer" I try to get up but my energy is down and I don't have the strength for it.
" I can't, go, just go without me"
"No! I can't leave you"

That's when the all to familiar noise got close, Roni started to panic and her eyes turned into saucers. I try to get up again, but the person chasing us caught up, I look up to where they were, he then raises the chainsaw and hit Roni. I was shocked, I yelled for her to get up, he knocked her out what is he going to do with her?, what about me?

Then I feel the hit of something hard, my vision gets blurry and i feel my body being lifted and placed on someone's shoulder,
then it all goes black.

I am sorry I haven't updated this story. I have been busy with school and homework, and know finals are coming up so I might not be updating to much. I will though update during winter break for sure maybe twice or some. Anyway I also noticed that people probably read the first two chapters( description and chapter1) and after that they probably stop reading, but who knows. Vote and comment💕
