I opened my eyes from what felt like a dream, but I knew in the back of my mind it was not. The helmet on my head was definitely a giveaway. I began asking myself, 'if that wasn't a dream - well nightmare more like - then what was it?' before my memories began coming back to me. That's right, it was the new MKG (Monokuma Killing Game) Training Simulator. After taking off inside the spaceship, as part of the Gofer Project, we were required to enter the MKG Training Simulator to prepare ourselves for if the rest of Junko's followers decided to force us in a killing game like she did with everyone else, including Principle Naegi so many years ago as a high school student and a Future Foundation member. This was the 53rd time we've participated and I was one of the survivors in this round.

My memories processed my days in Hope's Peak Academy, the Gofer Project, our mission and how the MKG Training Simulator worked. All of us would put on the helmets connected to the computer and the simulator would choose a 'Mastermind' among all of us. This time, it was Tsumugi. All of us had played the Mastermind, including myself. Though, I had to admit, Tsumugi was good, creative and played the villain well. The Mastermind chosen would be the only one retaining his or her memories of the simulator, while the rest of us had our memories wiped temporarily and replaced with fake memories, this time being that all of us were kidnapped, the Ultimate Hunt, some parts of being at Hope's Peak Academy and the obvious. Whatever memories were wiped and replaced would be up to the Mastermind as long as it didn't extend passed the first year of Middle School. The object of the simulator would be to defeat the Mastermind and survive and the survivors would be the winners. Though, if all of us died, except the mastermind, the mastermind would win. I've only won as the Mastermind one time, though it was mostly by luck, because everyone voted for the wrong culprit during the first trial. I didn't even kill anyone, set it up or give a motive. The idea was to learn how to defeat Junko and memorize it, until it is stored in our secondary memory, the part of the brain that neither Junko or her followers were able to wipe, because then it would prevent us from knowing how to walk, talk or function. So far, we've been improving, including my own detective skills. This is the 24th time I've survived and the 33rd time the Mastermind was defeated.

Taking off my helmet, I heard a wide applause coming from everyone else that woke up after their 'death.' I saw Maki and Himiko taking off their helmets as Tanko ran to her and gave her a high five. I smiled a bit as Kaede and Kaito approached me.

“Good job, Shuichi! Your detective skills are improving,” Kaito grinned, giving me a thumbs up.

“Yes, I'm really proud of you, Shuichi,” Kaede said with her sweet smile.

“I'm actually surprised it was Tsumugi this time and managed to be the first to kill Rantaro's Ultimate Survivor record,” I said, getting up.

“I was surprised too. I mean when she's the Mastermind, she can be creatively insane. Like I never would have thought using entertainment as part of the Mastermind's plot and here I thought Miu was insane as a Mastermind,” Kaito said.
