Chapter 1

Mate. My mate. They're close. So close I can hear their heart beat. And I'm sure they sense me as well. We're the only ones out here for miles. She smells, heavenly. Yet a little different from what I imagined. She smells different from that of a human. She smells like, a vampire.

His aura seems rather odd. The intense urge to be near him is a clear sign that he's my mate, and yet, I'm scared. Scared because I don't sense the presence of a human, vampire, or hell, even a werewolf. I sense two things. A demon, and a dragon. Both emanating off of the same being.

An open field, covered in golden grass. It came up to her exposed knees, slightly tickling her because the very short skirt she wore failed to cover her knees, or very little skin for that matter. The male stood thirty feet away from her, the grass not affecting him due to the loose ankle length pants he wore. He stood behind the girl, and although she couldn't see him, she had no doubt in her mind that he was there. After a while of silence, the girl let out an unexpected sigh.
   "It's odd. I had always imagined that my mate would be another vampire. Of course, having a human mate wouldn't be so bad. Id just have to turn him into a vampire." She paused for a second before turning around to face the man.
   "But I never would have imagined that my mate would be a demon dragon, let alone the great Demon King Natsu Dragneel."
   The man seemed to be pondering something, before he too spoke up.
   "And I never imagined that my mate would be the daughter of the last line of pure blood vampires. The so called Vampire Queen, Lucy Heartfilia."
   Both individuals were now intrigued in their mates, especially since each individual was well known. Not only that, but both were also rulers of respected races, meaning that both probably had some sort of power.
   "Well, Natsu Dragneel. As Queen of the vampires, I must ensure that my mate is not only worthy enough to rule my kingdom by my side, but I must also ensure that my mate is capable of protected me, my kingdom, and my future children. And so, I suggest we duel."
   The pink haired man seemed to ponder the idea.
   "As king of both the demons and the dragons, I too need to ensure that my mate can rule a kingdom. Not only that, I need to be sure that my mate has the power to carry my child and raise an heir to the throne. Therefor, I accept your offer to duel. All powers are allowed. First one to knock the other one over wins."
   "While I am glad you accepted my offer, I think that knocking someone over would be too simple. I suggest that the first one unable to get up after being knocked down looses."
   "Fair enough. I accept your terms."
   Both the blonde and the pink haired man got into a fighting stance. And strangely enough, it was the female to make the first move.
   "Open, gate of the lion, Leo! And now, Leo star dress form!" With those simple words, a golden hair man appeared next to the blonde, and her outfit changed into a formal looking dress.
   "I see. Your a Celestial Wizard. And it looks like your advanced enough to use start dresses. I might as well start of big too." The pink haired mage was suddenly enveloped in fire. It covers him from head to toe, scorching the grass which he stood on. Then, a sly grin took over his facial features.
   "Fire Dragon King mode!!!" The flames surrounding him had a sudden surge in heat, and his arm was enveloped into a dragon like symbol.

   The blonde merely gave a confused glance at the man.
   "Dragon King mode. While I have heard rumors that this is your most powerful dragon slayer mode, I am confused. I know for a fact that your END mode is even more powerful than this form, so why don't you use it?"
   "That form is deadly. It kills almost all who go up against it. While I may be testing your strengths, I certainly don't want to kill my mate."
   To this, the blonde simply nodded. And upon locking eyes with her mate, the duel began.

"Well Lucy, it looks like I win!" The fire mage was pinning the celestial wizard down. After 3 hours of non stop battling, the male was victorious. While neither of the two had sustaining injuries, they were both scratched up quite a bit. And both were in shock of how powerful the other was, for neither of them had ever fought an opponent so hard to beat.
"Lucy Heartfilia, due to the fact that I am the victor, it is clear that I have met your standards as a mate. However, even though you lost you have by far surpassed my expectations. Therefor, I would gladly take you as my mate. So, Lucy Heartfilia, Queen of the Vampires, you are now mine."
The blonde simply smiled, and for the first time in her life, was glad to have someone wanting to be her mate.
"Natsu Dragneel, I am now your mate. I belong to you, and you are also mine." To this, the dragon slayer smiled. He leaned over to help the blonde up, or so she thought. Instead, he grabbed her by the waist, threw her over his shoulder, and began to walk away.
After 10 minutes of Lucy telling Natsu to put her down, they eventually found themselves at the edge of a cliff. Natsu then repositioned Lucy to where he was giving her a piggyback ride, and jumped off of the edge of the cliff. However, neither of them were afraid of the fall. Due to Lucy being a vampire and Natsu being a demon, boy were immortal. However, Natsu has no intention of reaching the bottom of the cliff. Suddenly, wings sprouted from his back, and he began to fly away, off to his castle.

Zodiac_Nalu here! Hope you guys liked my first chapter! I'm thinking about adding some lemon later in the book, but I'm not sure yet. I also think I'm gonna have Natsu go full END against some people. And imma try to have Lissana steal Natsu, but she's not gonna be evil. If you guys have anything you really want to see out of this book, tell me! Oh, and I don't own any of these characters, Hiro Mashima owns them all. However, I do wish I could own Natsu ;)
