Jaylee has never felt more nervous than she does right now. She was currently on her way to Big Hit Entertainment to have a meeting with the CEO, Mr.Bang Si-hyuk. He wanted to talk to her about her contract and what would happen if she ended up signing it. As Jaylee walked towards the company, she couldn't help but notice her reflections in the windows of buildings as she passed by. She was disgusted with how she looked.
Torn oversized clothes, shoes with holes in them, and a dirty face. To complete the look, she was way too underweight for her age and she was a sickly pale. It couldn't be helped considering her family's financial situation, but she still felt ashamed of her appearance.
When she had finally arrived at Big Hit, she started contemplating about whether she should just leave and get a normal job that guaranteed a paycheck. She knew what could possibly happen if she signed the contract, but her love for music was too strong compared to the endless possibilities of failure. She had hope, and she believed that if you had hope you could do anything.
As she pulled open the door, she couldn't help but be amazed at the interior of the building. Yes, it wasn't the most expensive, but it was the biggest building she had ever been in and it looked like a castle to her. Jaylee ran her fingers along the wall, not noticing that her shoes were leaving a trail of mud with every step she took.
It wasn't until she came to the end of the wall that she had noticed that she was now lost. Lost in corridors upon corridors with nobody to be seen. Jaylee started to panic because she had a meeting with the CEO at 11 a.m. and it was already nearing 10:55. Jaylee tried reading the signs above the doors but her Korean was not perfected yet so she had quite a bit of trouble with that, and she ended up trying to find an exit to the lobby the old fashioned way. By wandering around hoping you end up where you need to be. If you're lucky, you'll bump into a worker, and have them escort you the correct way.
"How do I always manage to get lost?!" Jaylee questioned herself in her native tongue, English, disappointed with her actions.
As Jaylee continued to babble nonsense, she wasn't really paying attention to where she was going, thus leading her to bump into a wall. A wall that was soft, but hard at the same time, if that made sense. She was so shocked she had fell on her butt, confused on how she got on the floor in the first place.
"Sorry. Are you supposed to be here? Are you lost?"
Someone was talking to Jaylee but she had no idea what they were saying. Jaylee turned her head up and saw a man, maybe a couple years older than her, standing above her. He had a sharp gaze that held what looked like curiosity and a hint of disgust. She felt like his stare was looking into her soul and finding her darkest secrets.
Jaylee quickly looked away and stood up. She felt embarrassed and a little bit angered with how he looked at her. Yes, she knew how she looked wasn't presentable, but couldn't he have at least tried to hide his disgust?
"Excuse me? Are you homeless? You're not supposed to be in here." The mysterious man said, as he grabbed her arm and started dragging her somewhere.
"No! Wait! I need to meet Mr.Bang Si-hyuk! Where are you taking me!?" Jaylee continued to scream hoping the man would understand and let her go. Sadly, that didn't happen, and now she was back in the lobby.
Exactly where she needed to be.
