"Get Mossfern!" Tawnyspots yelled" Are the kits coming?", "Of course they are! " she snapped "Why else would I be shouting?" "where is she?" the ginger tom asked over his shoulder as he ran to the gorse tunnel "By the waterfall, hurry!" he raced out of the camp in the direction of the waterfall. Tawnyspots turned around and meowed in a soft voice " Hold on a little longer Mossfern will be here soon." The den rustled and Mossfern came in with a bundle of herbs. "How long has she been at it?" Mossfern asked, "Not long, since dawn at least." Tawnyspots replied. " I am right here you know!" I snapped in annoyance mostly because I was in pain. They looked at me and Mossfern turned and whispered something to Tawnyspots she nodded and left and then turned to me and said "Push harder, the longer you lay there the longer you will be in pain." I pushed hard and then I heard a soft plop and Mossfern bent over and grasped a tiny Grey and white she-cat and put her next to my belly "she is beautiful!" I said I started to close my eyes to go to sleep when a paw prodded me " You have to stay awake there is one more to go." she urged I heaved and a second plop came "A tom" Mossfern announced "He is handsome" she said I looked at the snowy white little cat " He is," I said "They both are" I purred. Just then the den rustled and Thrushclaw came in "They are beautiful" He breathed "what are their names?" "this one is Whitekit, what do you think about her?", "Hmm, I think Mosskit would be beautiful" Thrushclaw meowed. "They are perfect Whitekit and Mosskit," I said as I touched each of them in turn.

"Omff!" A body landed on top of me "get off of me!" I said it had already been one moon since I kitted and Whitekit and Mosskit were already getting into trouble "Can't you see that I am trying to get some rest." i meowed but I couldn't stay mad at them for long " you should still be sleeping too it isn't even dawn yet." I said sleepily "But we want to go on the dawn patrol." they complained "Well you can't. you aren't even two moons old yet." I meowed annoyed "Can we go outside the den?" They asked "Fine." I mumbled I dragged myself to my paws and stumbled outside the den. I blinked a couple of times to get my eyes adjusted most of the clan was already awake and buzzing around the camp some were crowded around Tawnyspots waiting for orders and others were coming out of their dens or lying down in the early rays of light "Dawnfur! Dawnfur! can we go play in the Warriors' den?", "no, of course, you can't you are not a warrior yet. you can play in the clearing"
