The scratch had gotten bigger by now, covering her neck like she had slit her own throat.

That was practically what she did, laying in a pool of her own blood.

A demon appeared before her, tapping his foot impatiently. “You humans just die so easily, don't you? I could make it go by faster, if you wanted.”

The detective hissed, clawing at their neck more. Her fingernails scraped long, deep marks in the skin. She was dying, and she only needed someone to help her.

“Alfred, please....”

She coughed out. But he was probably long gone, forgetting about her and the times they had together. Was it even worth it to call them friends anymore?

“I break... This deal...”
