Chapter 1: Emma Roselyn.

Emma's past:
Time. It seems to slow at the most inconvenient time for everyone; or maybe even worse it speeds up. There's a saying that goes "time slows down when your watching the clock" and " time flies by when your having fun". Well for me all my life I've been watching a clock and nothing around me seems to speed up but appearance. Yes I've gotten taller, longer hair, and a more mature face but nothing else seems to change. Change happens at the most unexpected time and it stops abruptly and it will still change no matter what.

Change happened when my older sister and I lost our parents in a car crash. The driver that hit them didn't even stop... they were left out on the road like trash. They were my everything; my childhood, my memories, my sister, and me. They were out getting grocery's and told my sister to stay with me because they hated the idea of me being alone. My sister and I were bickering that night because she wanted to go out but I'm glad she didn't I would've had to deal with everything by myself till she got home.

My sister was 19 when this happened and I was 12. She was the only family that would take care of me; she had to take two jobs to take care of me while I went to school. The look on her face everyday I come home, I saw that I held her back from everything she wanted to do but I'm planning on changing that soon by helping her out.

What if we reversed time? What if we went back to the very day where our parents died? What if we prevented it? Everything would be okay then. My sister... my sister Ashley wouldn't have to be waitress or a cook at the local diners anymore. But this? This would be impossible to do. You can't go back in time no matter what; you can't change the past; you can't cheat death; and you can't change fate. Fate has a plan for all of us , but in the moment when me and sister started moving out and starting new somewhere else...

Change and fate coexist together. They determine everything in your life and my life just ended...

Emma's present:

The cold wind blew my hair back as I sat on my porch. Ashley just left for work and I didn't have enough motivation to get me to school; so I stayed home. This house always makes people feel small but for me I felt too constricted like I was gonna be stuck here no matter what. My big puffy coat made a shuffling noise as I dug my hands deeper into my pockets. Hopefully it doesn't get any colder than this or walking to school is gonna suck.

Going back inside I smelled the pancakes that Ashely made earlier before she left. Throwing my puffy jacket on the coat hanger, I went upstairs and fell onto my bed. Watching the clock on my wrist I waited but time went too slow for me so I curled up and took a long nap . I've always had nightmares when I slept so it wasn't a surprise that I had one when I slept. In my dream I was running, my heart pounded against my chest, I wore a long nightdress covered in dirt, and the scariest part was that I didn't know what I was running from.

My face was covered in sweat and I kept looking back in terror. What's wrong with me? What's going on? Just then I felt a sharp pain in my arm and I staggered a little but continued running as I held my arm. There's someone ahead of me; I need to run, I need help, I don't want to be alone, I heard myself say "WAIT!" As I ran toward the figure.

The figure turned an- "Emma! Your suppose to be at school!!" My sister yelled as she woke me up.

Waking up groggily I said as I rubbed my eyes "M-must have slept in".

Ashley's face was flushed with anger as she glared at me "That's bullshit and you know it Em! I came home because I got a call from the school! Do you know what happens if you don't go to school?!"
