Yvonne's POV.

        Ring! Ring! , my alarm went off at 6:00am. Its too early for me. Arghh!.
I was so tempted to hit the snooze button, but then I remembered, today was going to be my first day at work.
I sure wasn't bent on disappointing Mr Stone on my first day.

Getting my lazy butt up, I went to shower. After showering, I stood in front of my wardrobe contemplating on what to wear since I didn't own much corporate wears.
After long 5 minutes, I settled for a navy blue gown just a little above my knee, a black jacket and black heels.

I applied just a little makeup and put my hair in a neat bun. Looking at myself once more in the mirror, I felt satisfied with how I look. I am finally ready.

Grabbing my bag, I rushed downstairs. It was 6:30am already. This is the fastest that I've had to get ready for anything. As I reached the kitchen, I was surprised to see Emily already seated at the counter. Its not like her.

Normally, she can sleep till around 11:00 in the morning and still feel sleepy; I thought as I smiled at her.

Bet she was awake just to wish me good luck on my first day. I told her all about the incident and she cried because she knew that I accepted it just to take care of her.
She is my only family, the only reason why I still wake up every morning, the very reason for my existence.

" Hey Em, Good morning ".

" Morning Vonnie ", she chirped; "You look beautiful. I made you a quick omelette so you don't have to hungry to work today ".

" Gee, thanks Em, You're the best, I love you so very much ". I said while hugging her.

" Love you to Vonnie".

I sat down and dug in to my food, it was delicious.

" So, Yvonne how's the food?",

" Its great, I said with my mouth full".

" You know Vonnie, if mom and dad were here, they'd be so proud of you. Thanks so much for taking care of me since mom and dad passed away.
I would not have been able to complete college if not for you juggling two to three jobs at a time".

" But don't worry Vonnie, now that am done with college, I promise to work as hard as you so that I can also care for you the way you do to me, she said with a determined look".

At this that Emily said, my eyes were teary, before I could even say anything, she continued;

" Well, I got a job at a cafe, though the pay isn't all that big but its enough to sustain. I get a weekly pay, so we can use my salary for basic things till you get your monthly pay".

By now, I was done with my omelette, I stood up and went over to hug Emily, tears dripping from my eyes. I cupped her face;

"I love you so much Emily, just know that. Take things easy okay. I'm positive you'd get a good paying job with your Management Certificate later on. You are the best little sister in the world".

" It will always be me and you against the world, I said while giving her a high five with huge grins on our face".

"Go show that Stone guy what your made of sis" , we laughed at the irony 'Stone guy'.

" Sure thing Emi".

I took a taxi, gosh there is huge traffic, I'd be late for sure. When I finally reached my destination, I hesitated to go down cause I know this job is gonna be hell for me.

I summoned all the strength in me, got down and turned to the Cab, gave him a weak smile and paid him.
I stood in front of the building, "STONE ENTERPRISES " bold at the top. I took a deep breath and walked in.

The place was already busy and so early in the morning. People were walking around with files and documents in their hands. None even sparing a glance at each other. This place must really be uptight.

Walking over to the receptionist;

" Good morning Miss, how may I help you ", the receptionist with the name tag Kelly Miers asked with a huge smile.

" Um Hi, can I call you Kelly?"

" Of Course, you can".

" Thanks, okay Kelly, am actually searching for Mr Stones office, I'm kind of new here, today is my first day".

"Ohhhh, you're Yvonne; Come on, you are already 10 minutes late. Mr Stone will be furious" , she said while dragging my hand towards the elevator. We got in and stopped at the 15th floor.

"Hurry up Yvonne, I like you already and I don't want you to be fired on your first day" , she said hurriedly.

We stopped in front of a huge black door with golden handle, it seems his office alone was on this floor. I turned to face Kelly;

" Thanks Kelly, you are very nice".

" You're welcome Yvonne, Good luck on your first day and after work, we can have some girl time. What you think, you up? ".

" I'd like that very much, thanks".

" Alright Yvonne, see you later, she said while waving and turning her back to me to leave".

Turning back to the huge black doors, I'm finally ready to face him.

So I finally updated this chapter after a long while, I know I haven't been updating regularly, my schedule is really tight, so please expect slow updates but I'd still try my best to update on time.

Damien and Yvonne's love story is about to begin in earnest :).....watch out and get ur tissues ready, there's gonna be a whole lot of crying ;)....Love u all my dear readers.
