Dear Thomas,

I forgot to ask you if I could send you letters.
Since I have nowhere to send them to, I'm going to keep these in a box up in my apartment.
I hope your flight went well. I saw a plane flying over town and I waved at it, hoping it was you.

Sincerely,
Denki

Dear Thomas,

That night before you left, you called me Dearest. I thought I should let you know how unusually happy that made me.

Sincerely,
Denki

Dear Thomas,

Is it odd? I miss you. I miss you more than a man would miss a dear friend.
Is it love? Is it really? I miss your smile and your laugh. I miss your stories. I want you to hold me again.

One day I can see your smile again.
Until then...

Dearestly yours,
Denki

Dear Thomas,

Are you with your Lady yet? I remembered your plane's name. How could I not remember, you told me so many stories about her.
Have fun creating more stories.
Be safe in the sky.

Your lad on the ground,
Denki

Dear Thomas,

I went to the bar today to pick up something for my neighbor. I half expected to see you there, but I wasn't too disappointed when you weren't.
The shop is so quiet without you there.
It's just me and the flowers again.
But without your presence, it doesn't feel right anymore.

Keep up your promise. I'm holding up mine.

Dearly missing you,
Denki

Dear Thomas,

I still can't get over it. "Dearest."
The way you said it, so gently, gives me a damn near heart attack whenever I think of it.

I think of it often.

Sincerely,
Denki

Dear Thomas,

Do you still have that picture of me you took? Did it ever turn out well?
Have you forgotten about me yet?

I hope you haven't.

Sincerely,
Denki

Dear Thomas,

I can't sleep, so I'm writing this letter in the moonlight that comes through my window.
Do you look at the moon too?
Maybe she can bring us together if we both gaze at her at the same time.

Every time I look at the forget-me-nots on the shelf, I feel like crying.
What if you never come back? The thought haunts me.
What if that time we spent together was the only time we'll ever get?

Please come home to me,
Denki

Dear Thomas,

I'm with my family for the weekend. My brother Eijiro is on leave. He's telling us stories about his plane, Kitsune. That's Japanese for fox.
He's also telling us about this nurse he's apparently smitten with.
Her name is Mina. Eijiro is practically in love with the gal.

He tells us about her, and how he wants to win her over once the war is over.

Do you think it'll be like that for us?
