With the help of the Spaniards, Denki opened his new shop in Spain.
A fresh start.
Thomas now enjoyed the sight of flowers again. He often joined Denki at the flower shop to help him, and they picked up the old tradition of the florist teaching him about flowers.
Everything was brighter.
Better.
Warmer.
Everything was perfect now that they had each other again.
Their days were filled with business and sneaky kisses, but after dark they enjoyed each other's company to their heart's content.
Once a year, on that fateful anniversary of Thomas' departure from America, they held a little party.
They brought out wine and vodka, and Hanta would invite his French "friend" over to his estate. Kyouka would play music on her record player.
There were no tearful kisses goodbye.
No more fateful promises.
Only bliss.
"Moonlight and love songs never out of date!", Hanta sang at the top of his drunken lungs, reminding Thomas of his fellow pilots.
"Hearts full of passion, jealousy and hate!", the French man whom Hanta invited, and was obviously in love with, sang with him. The two twirled around the dining room together.
"Woman needs man and man must have his mate", Kyouka piped in, sipping on her glass.
"That no one can deny!"
"It's still the same old story!", Thomas sang. He wrapped his arm around Denki as they gently swayed to the music.
"A fight for love and glory!", Denki continued, smiling the smile Thomas loved since the first time he saw him.
"A case of do or die."
As they danced and drank, reminiscing on the days of old and new, a window upstairs was open.
The wind rustled the petals of the blue-petaled flower by the curtains, causing a petal to fall.
The petal fell right in front of the framed picture under the flowers.
The photo Hanta took that emotional night. Two men in each other's arms, crying and laughing with joy.
A few words were written in the corner of the picture.
A promise that linked the two together since that night in New York."The world will always welcome lovers, as time goes by!"
Forget me not?
The End
