Hiro POV

"Hiro...Hiro wake up child or you'll be late for breakfast." A voice calls out to me as I open my eyes to the bright light of dawn shining through a window.

I try to ascertain what is the source of the voice that woke me up...and lo and behold I see a matronly woman by the door of the room I am in. She was dressed in a red kimone with swirling designs of flames all over it.

Okay...that's a neat trick. I quickly observe on the woman...

Hmm it also tells me their current level this is interesting. Might come in handy when deciding whether to fight an enemy or not. It would be wise to guage my odds of survival based on their level as compared to mine.  (Logical thinking gains +1 int point)

"Good morning Kurogasa-san, did I oversleep?" I asked in what I believe is a sweet 4 year-old voice.

"Not by a lot sweet child, but all the other kids are already in the dining hall and having breakfast, today is a special day remember."

"U.... Um forgive me," I stammer, " I'm not fully awake yet may you remind me," I add my best smile with puppy dog eyes. "Oh silly boy, today is the day that the Feudal Lord's brother and his wife come to adopt one of you sweet children. If you're lucky you might be the one who get a new home today."

The lord's brother...if I remember correctly the feudal lords in Naruto were like kings who spent days in luxury with ninja villages at their beck and call. If I pull my cards right I might gain access to a great wealth and easier access to special training materials to get stronger faster. I need to get in this matron's good graces so that she can talk me up to those people.

" But, if I leave I won't get to see you anymore Kuro~san. You've always taken great care of me, won't you feel lonely?" Kuro~san gets a little teary eyed as she smiles at me and beckons me to her. She hugs me tightly to her and strokes my head.

"Nothing would make me happier than to have you find a mommy and daddy who are just for you." That gets to me a little bit because even in my old life no one gave a crap enough to just prioritise my happiness without anything for themselves. She pulled back and looked at me kindly, "such a handsome boy they'll be foolish not to pick you."

Wow she really cares for me... That's a first. " Okay, Kuro~san at least lemme do some chores to help out before I head to breakfast." The least I could do is earn some of this love right.

"Such a sweetheart, why don't you fix your bed and takeout the waste bin then hurry and wash your face and off to breakfast with you," she says this with a smile on her face.
