AprilA007

Lancer knocked on the door, then waited patiently. He has gotten more and more curious, living with Susie, why her relationship with her sister was so awful.
Sus described her sister as someone who's ‘made it her goal to make every day as shitty as possible for other people,’ yet then when Lancer got the chance to actually talk to her, she wasn't as bad as Susie had made him anticipate.
Yes, she was rude at times and could be a general asshole, but on the same level as Susie. She was just more confident than her, and a bit more violent and sadistic.
Lancer did some investigating around the house and found an old photo, of which Sandra was laughing hysterically at Susie's failure to eat nice cream correctly her first time.
She'd let her sit next to her, so that meant they weren't always on this bad terms.
Noelle knew Susie better than almost anyone, and that's why he wanted to ask her. He wanted to ask what happened between them, and the smol reindeer was the perfect monster to ask!

The door opened a moment later, Noelle standing. “Hello? Oh! Hello, Lancer!” she waved happily and opened the door fully, smiling down at the small spade beneath her.
“Hiya Noelle! I wanted to ask a question!”
“Oh? About what?”
“Susie!”
Noelle smirked and chuckled a little, “I'm Susie master!” she mocked, “Ask me about Susies!”
Lancer laughed at her, but stepped inside when he was invited.

Noelle walked inside ans gestured for him to follow, leading him to a living room. “Here, you can sit. Would you like some hot cocoa? I was just finishing making some when you knocked.”
“Yes please!” Lancer replied back, running and pouncing onto the couch, giggling childishly at the bouncing.
Noelle nodded and giggled a bit at him, walking off and coming back a moment later with a mitten and a cup of steaming hot cocoa.
“Be careful, it's hot.”
The smaller nodded and thanked her, taking the cup and almost dropping it on himself at the heat, yet Noelle gave him the mitten and kept it steady in her hand as he put it on.
“Hohoho! Thanks!” Lancer chirped, laying back.
Noelle went to grab something from a shelf, “What did you want to ask?”
“Oh! Do you know why Susie doesn't like her sister so much?”
Elle's expression dropped slightly. “I.. Do know why. Do you really want to know?”
He took a sip of cocoa, “Yes please.”
Noelle knew he was serious because he wasn't shouting or laughing like normal, so she sighed and took the photograph her little paw was already grasping. She sat next to Lancer, “Well..”

˝Susie and Sandra used to be best friends, believe it or not.˝
Susie pawed at the floor, complaining to her older sister about the red dot that would always escape her grasps. Sandra just laughed, encouraging her to keep trying the next time she saw it.
˝Even if Sandra would pull the occasional prank—the lazer pointer or spray bottle, maybe the rare tail pull—they were still really close.˝
Susie ran over to the entrance to the play area in the daycare, waiting patiently in front of it as she waited for her dad to show up. Sandra was right beside her, making sure she wouldn't run off and get into trouble.
˝Yet, as they got older, Sandra's claws grew in, and her playful shoving and pawing turned into painful scratching. And in the rare instance things did get physical, it was usually Susie that would get hurt. She'd never tell on her sister though, blaming herself for getting her angry. Sandra always apologized afterward, so she didn't mean to do it, or that's at least what Susie thought at the time.˝
Sandra wiped the blood from her sister's nose, apologizing and kissing her boo-boo for her. The littler, of course, accepted her apology and hugged her tightly, and Sandy pued out a Band-Aid for the cut.
˝But.. Then.. Susie got her really angry. It was more than just a little scratch on the nose that time..˝
Noelle, Berdly, and all the other toddlers across the room didn't know what was going on. Sandra was more of a grown up to them even if she wasn't grown up. Sandy refused to go to school and leave Susie here alone, since she was kind of shy. She was the oldest kid in the daycare, about ten while the rest of the kids were two to five.
Yet all the older ones knew exactly what was going on when a high pitched, shrill scream of agony erupted from the other side of the room.
˝She..˝

Noelle took a breath, hating to remember the image. “She'd accidentally scratched Susie right in the eye.”

“Susie!! Susie are you okay!?” She gently shook her sister and tried to get her to show her what the wound looked like. “Susie, answer me!”

“That's why, even if she parts her bangs, she never shows that eye. She hates the scar. She can still see out of it, though, even if it's severely limited due to some blur and distortion. I'm pretty sure, at least.”

It was when Sandra looked down at her hand that she knew she was in big trouble, it pretty much stained her fur, how much blood there actually was. She didn't try to get Susie to look at her, running off to drag the caretaker that was already on their way over to her.
˝Susie.... Can hold a grudge like no tomorrow. Even if Sandra apologized countless times, I don't think she ever forgave her. And, in her own words, Susie could ‘Tell that little binch was faking it’ and that she knew she was ‘Being fake as an unfinished circle’˝

Susie was healed mostly up by the caretakers, even though one had already called someone. They weren't the most trained people in the world.
Sandra really could do nothing but stand at the doorframe, peeking in to see her sis.

Lancer stared at her for a moment.
“That's horrible!”
"I know. I hate to think about it, I'm sorry for putting that image in your head.”
“Well! ..... Well!” He took a moment. “I'm gonna go mend their friendship!”
Noelle shook her head. “I'm not finished yet.”
“Oh! My apologies! Continue!”

˝A few years later, the topic would sometimes pop up. I know, I sat with then at lunch until third grade. Sandra would apologize and say she didn't mean to, but Susie would never give anything else but an ‘it's fine.’ But, it wasn't fine. Not just in that aspect. Susie saw how popular her sister was and she wanted to be there too. She found that being scary, extravagant, yet charming was the formula, or at least that's what it seemed like to her. So, she tried that, and even used her sister's threat of eating someone's face. When that stopped working out, Susie didn't want to try anymore. Sandra was getting to be a huge meanie  and Susie didn't want anything to do with her. Things started happening at home and Susie isolated herself from everyone more and more...˝

“Hey sis, you looking for someone!? Is it Noelle? Do ya really think she'll give your letter to Santa?!”
“Go away, Sandra, you /know/ I'm top old for Santa!!”

˝Santa around Christmas time was really her main focus. It was a joke between her and I since I'm a raindeer that I could give her list to Santa personally, and I knew she knew I was joking. I've never read the one she actually did give me in I think it was ninth grade, but I can tell it was about someone who meant a lot to her, because she seemed way more affected whenever Sandy would tease and mock her about him.˝

Susie watched from the sidelines, her foot up against the wall as Sandra was up on stage for the talent show. She was doing piano. Sus was planning on doing it but Sandy got rid of her form, so she couldn't get in even though she tried. Even her dad was here today, Sandra ruined everything, she always ruined everything!

˝Her dad was important to her because he was barely around at her house due to work, but he would sometimes be able to come during the day. Susie said that she always took the spotlight and never let her have any time with him.˝

Susie slammed her back onto her door, effectively shutting it tightly. She slid down it, fighting back tears. Don't cry, don't cry, don't cry, it's all she wants.

“She's dispized her since that talent show in sixth.” Noelle sighed. “I've tried to reason with them both sometimes, but I've never been able to get them to be pacifistic with one another.”
Lancer looked down. “Maybe.. Maybe they just-!”
Noelle put a hand on his shoulder, “Lancer, I don't think it'll help trying. Susie isn't the kind of monster that will let you push things, you sometimes can't even take it slow.”
“.... How do you know all this?”
“She told me.”
“Waa?? She hasn't told me!”
“You have to let her come to you, Lancer. Don't be too forward, ever.”
