The girls and I wake up the next morning wanting to go get breakfast. We all get ready and head over to the nearest IHOP. Kat driving and me being in the back. Thanks Devyn. Once we arrive, we take a seat near a window booth. Kat and Devyn sit on one side while I take the other side.

"Good morning, girls. My name is Hayley and I'll be your waitress this morning. Let me start you off with some drinks." The blonde haired lady says excitedly to us.

I smile over at her. "I'll take a chocolate milk please."

Hayley smiles and jots down my order. "Of course." She looks to the other side of the booth and waits patiently for one of the other girls to give their drinks.

"I'll take water please." Devyn says sweetly with and smile.

"I'll have chocolate milk too." Kat finishes with a smile.

The waitress takes off over toward the kitchen to make our drinks. We all emerge into a conversation and order our breakfast a few minutes later.

After a half hour of girl talk and yummy food, we decide it's time to head back to Kats house. As I'm getting out of the booth, I smash into someone walking by.

"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry." I say as I turn around and face the tall brunette boy standing in front of me.

He smiles at me and shakes his head. "Don't worry about it. I probably should have been paying attention anyway."

I smile and look to the ground. Man, he's really cute. He is very tall and muscular. His hair is shaggy and curls at the tips. His smile is straight and cheeky. Oh, and not to mention those eyes. A shade of emerald green. He is very clean cut and sophisticated yet, you can tell he has a wild side to him.

He holds his hand out in front of him, the veins relevant in his arm. "I'm Ethan."

I shake his hand shyly. "Charity."

He smiles, once again. "Pretty name forms gorgeous girl."

I giggle and move some hair behind my ear while looking down. "Thanks but I wouldn't exactly say that."

He shrugs. "Well, if I'm being honest, I actually ran into you on purpose." He starts getting nervous, as he laughs lightly.

I look up at him confused. "What?"

"I couldn't help but notice you when you walked in because you happen to be one of the prettiest girls I've ever seen." He says with a guilty smile. He leans over to our table and grabs an unused napkin. "Do you have a pen?"

I touch my empty pockets and shake my head. Devyn leans over my shoulder with a pen in her hand. Ethan snatched the pen while I look a Devyn with a glare. She shrugs in response and stands back over by Kat, as they enter-twine their arms together and watch eagerly.

I turn my attention back over to Ethan, just as he finishes up writing. He smiles and hands me the napkin and pen. "You could call me and we can get to know each other a little better." He starts to back away towards his friends. "See ya, Charity."

I blush and turn around to my friends. They are jumping up and down with excitement as I roll my eyes. "Let's go."

They look at each other and squeal, following me out the door. I'm hounded with questions all the way back to Kats house and still with questions by Devyn all the way back to our shared house.

She parks her car and I hop out quickly before she can say anything more.

"Char!!"

I open the door to the house and walk straight toward the stairs.

"Charity! You can't ignore this forever! He was cute and totally into you."

I stop at the bottom of the stairs and was about to respond but Corey, Colby, and Sam walk into the entryway from the living room.

"Hey baby! Who were you calling cute?" Corey asks while walking over to Devyn and giving her a hug and kiss on the head.

I roll my eyes and cross my arms, leaning my shoulder onto the wall next to me.

"Charity got this guys number at IHOP this morning, and he was totally into her and very cute. Not as cute as you, obviously. His name is Ethan and she won't text him. Someone tell her she should text him!" Devyn explains. I notice Colby put his head down and Sam snap his head over to look at him, but I brush it off.

"Charity, you should text him." Corey agrees. "I mean, why not? Take a chance. Like Colby's merch says. Take Chances. Right Colby?"

Colby pulls his head from the ground and raises his eyebrows. "What?"

Corey chuckles. "Charity should take a chance like what your merch says, right?"

"Oh. Oh. Yeah. Charity, go for it. I'm sure he's great." Colby says blandly and walks out of the room.

I shake my head. "I'll think about it." I finish while walking upstairs to my room.

I plop onto my bed and stare up at the ceiling, flipping my phone around in my hands. I pull my phone up to my face and sigh. I hate my friends. I plug Ethan's number into my phone and type out a text.

Charity: hi, Ethan. It's Charity.

I stare at the send button, hesitating. I've never been one to initiate a conversation, especially with someone I don't know and just met. Whenever I had a crush, Colby would always try and get me to ask him out. Of course, I would refuse because I'm too scared and I would always end up getting hurt.

"I just don't understand how he can be so dang cute." I mutter to myself, while having my head perched up by my hands.

There he is, Alex Oaks. He might not be the most popular boy in school, but he sure is charming. His brown hair, blue eyes, glasses, sharp jaw line, his one freckle right on his cheek. He wears a blue plaid flannel with a grey shirt underneath and paired with dark jeans. His ears are tucked under his matching grey beanie. He is one very handsome figure.

"Why don't you just take a picture, it'll last longer? Actually, no, asking him out will last longer than a picture. He's yours for good." Colby says while snapping me out of my trance.

I scoff. "Who do you think I am? Kendall Jenner? I don't have the balls to go up and ask him out."

Colby laughs. "Well, I sure hope you don't have balls. Otherwise, I'll be real confused on why your boobs are larger than a typical males." I slap his arm. "Ouch." He says while rubbing his bicep.

I turn my attention back on the worksheet we are supposed to be doing.

"All silliness aside tho, C. You really should ask him out." Colby says while finally writing his name on his paper.

I look a him, confused. "Why?"

He turns to face me this time. "Because, you have liked so many people and each one has somehow hurt you. And not on purpose either, so you can't even blame them."

I scoff again. "That is not true!"

He gives me 'the look.' He moves his hand to tap his chin. "Hmm, let me see. There was Tom Chambers, Dylan Scott, Mikey Baker, Andrew,"

I cut him off. "Okay okay! I get it."

He shrugs. "I'm just saying. I would make me really happy to see you do something for yourself." He says whole turning back to his paper.

I reminisce on the memory. That certain conversation got me my first boyfriend. Alex was great and we dated for a good two years, before his dad got a new job in Philly and had to move. We decided it was best to spilt and if fate wanted us back together we would find each other again. It hasn't happened yet, but I still hold onto the little hope I have for him.

I look at the unsent message and take a deep breath before pressing send. I lock my phone quickly and chuck it at the end of bed. Oh my gosh, what did I do?

A few seconds later, I hear a faint ding. My eyes goes wide and I scramble for my phone.

Ethan: hey, Charity :)
