"Oo, Girl. You look great."

I roll my eyes and finish putting on my mascara. "I'm not even that dressed up."

Devyn plops onto my bed and scoffs. "Where are you even going anyway?"

I shrug. "I don't know. He never told me. He just said dress casual."

I stand up after closing my mascara bottle and walk over to my full length mirror to take one last look at my outfit. I'm wearing a black and white striped t-shirt with jean overall shorts. I pair them with my white converse and grab my favorite pair of sunglasses. I turn toward Devyn.

"Well, wherever he is taking you, he is gonna want you after."

I roll my eyes once more. "Dev, you fantasize too much."

Devyn giggles and shrugs. "I'm just a little excited for you. You've never shown any interest in an LA guy before and suddenly Mr. Sexy Ethan shows up and your going out on a date with him."

I sigh, grabbing my black leather mini bag. "I don't know why. I'm branching out, I guess."

I turn around and make my way down the stairs toward the kitchen, Devyn hot on my heels.

"Do you have everything? Phone, extra lip stick, mini perfume and deodorant, breath mints?"

I lay my bag down on the counter and turn around, giving Devyn a glare. Corey is chuckling in the living room.

"One more comment from your checklist and I'm going to go insane. You are in full momma bear mode."

Corey, Colby, and Sam make their way into the kitchen. Corey wraps his arms around Devyn while Colby props himself up on the counter and Sam grabs a water from the fridge.

"Sorry, Char. It's just way to exciting. Eep." Devyn cheers while clapping her hands.

I roll my eyes for the thousandth time and grab my house key from the rack.

"Oh, how about condoms?" Devyn asks kinda quietly but it didn't matter, everyone heard.

"Devyn!" I shout while placing my keys in my bag.

Everyone laughs at Devyns comment while Colby scoffs. I turn and look at him. "What's that for?"

He snaps his head up from his twiddling thumbs. "Nothing." He mumbles.

I shake my head. "Didn't seem like nothing. Is having sex a sensitive comment for Mr. Brock?" I say in a baby voice while messing up the top of his hair. He shoves me off him, playfully.

"No, I just know you better." He says with a shrug.

I put my hands on hips. "Oh do ya? Why do you say that?"

He stands up straight and looks you in the eyes. "You've told me once in high school that you weren't gonna have sex with someone you just meant just because society is telling you to. You said, you wanted to wait until the perfect guy came around and you were absolutely ready for that kind of intimate setting. You want your first to be with someone you are in love with."

Everyone stays quiet for what seems like forever. I stare at Colby in shock, not realizing he actually remembers having this conversation so long ago. My thoughts are swirling at that fact.

He remembers? I didn't think he was actually listening to me. I never thought he did. He was always on his phone or playing video games whenever I started talking about things like that. He was paying attention?

Suddenly the door bell rings and everyone snaps out of their trances from before. I blink and look down, embarrassed that I had stared into Colby's eyes for that long. I clear my throat and head toward the door. I can still feel Colby's blue eyes piercing a hole into my back as I walk away.
