Jeongin's POV

My eyes are awakened by bright lights shining down upon me and I can hear the sound of what seems like a 'beep' going off at a constant rate.

I try to move but it's like my body isn't responding to me. I feel very stiff, statue-like. No matter how hard I struggle to even move an inch, it feels as if there's an invisible person weighing down on me, not letting me get out of their grasp.

I examine my surroundings with my eyes. Apart from how bland the room is and it having the overbearing scent of chemicals and a hint of impending death from one of the patients a couple rooms down from mine.

I softly sigh and proceed to rest my eyes. That was when I suddenly felt a soft grip on my left hand.

I look over to my left and there bestowed Chan, with a pulled up cushioned chair next to my bed. His upper body lying on the limited free space of the hospital bed that I'm currently occupying.

His face is buried into the bed and his arms were resting gently as well.

'Was he here with me this whole entire time?' I thought to myself.

'He didn't have to stay with me. He could've just simply gone home and slept in a comfortable bed instead of being here with me and worrying constantly. I kind of feel like a burden to-'

I'm taken out of my thoughts upon feeling the grip on my hand tighten.

Chan's face turns to the side so I can properly see him. His eyebrows are furrowed and his nose is a little scrunched, Showing an expression of discomfort. He gives out a small whine.

"N-No Jeongin, please don't leave." he mumbles softly.

Ah, I see what's going on here. He must be having a bad dream.

I held his hand and softly caressed the back of it with my thumb, over his knuckles that were tense.

Due to my action, he wakes up from his slumber, and once he notices me looking down at him, he jolts up right back into his seat.

"Jeongin, you're awake! Ah shit, I promise myself I wouldn't fall asleep to watch over you in case if something happens." He says with disappointment in himself.

"Chan that's like impossible to do."

"Have you met me?"

I giggle a little. "True. Sure you could probably stay up all night on a normal day but after everything that happened yesterday, I don't think anyone would have the energy to stay up."

He sighs a gives me a small smile. "You always know how to make me feel better. I'm just so glad you're okay."

"Why wouldn't I be? Do I really look weakling to you? I'll fight you!" I playfully threaten as I mold my hands into fists.

"To be perfectly honest with you, yes." He says bluntly.

"W-wha-" Just before I can say anything else he comes onto the bed with me and puts my head into his chest.

I inhale his scent and it makes me feel all warm and safe.

"You're my weakling though." He says softly against my ear and gives my temple a light kiss.

I look up and distanced myself away from him.

"Was that supposed to be cute? Because I just feel like you high-key roasted me."

"Stop putting on a charade. We both know you secretly liked it."

"N-no I didn't."

He leans so that his face and mine are at the same level and having his arms pull me back into him. "Tell me this then. Why were you just stuttering and now your face is as red as a tomato?" He smirks through his question.
