I couldn't keep my face out of my phone for the next few weeks. I was constantly texting or calling with Dylan when he wasn't busy, and I think Jaden was starting to get suspicious. She was staring at me more, and she even thought something was different about me. So, two weeks ago, she sat me down on the couch and forced me to talk to her.
"What's your secret? I know you're keeping one," she said sternly. Jaden was the type of girl who loved gossip, but she was also the kind who would carry a secret with her to her grave if I asked her to.
"Okay," I grinned. I was excited to finally give into the girly screaming constantly inside of me. "I met someone."
"I knew it!" she squealed, throwing her arms around me. I laughed, hugging her back, then she instantly pulled me away, looking seriously at me. "Who is it? What's he like? Tell me everything."
"Well. You...might...know him." I knew for a fact she would freak when I told her. Not because she was this huge fan of his, but because she simply knew who he was, liked him, and would be so excited for me, she wouldn't control herself. She frowned at my vagueness, so I took a deep breath. "His name is Dylan, and he's the most amazing guy I've ever talked to."
Her brows furrowed with thought. "Dylan Wright?"
"No."
"Jones?"
"No."
"Well, who? I'm tired of guessing."
I bit my lip, fighting back a smile. "O'Brien."
Jaden froze, staring at me through squinted eyes. "Like... Teen Wolf, Dylan O'Brien?"
"That's the one," I sighed. She opened her mouth to probably scream, but I cut her off. "But we're just friends."
Jaden scoffed, "Yeah, right, with how much you've been talking lately, you are not just friends." She paused with thought. "Wait, doesn't he have a girlfriend?"
"Yes. Like I said, we're just friends."
She seemed to understand my pointed tone and my unwillingness to further that part of the conversation. "Okay. So tell me everything."

I smoothed out my dress in the mirror. It was the usual little black dress paired with tall heels and a full face of makeup. I was done up because in a few minutes, Jaden, our friends, and I were all leaving for her bachelorette party. We were going to some strip club called Urban Fantasy. It had been their idea. Clubbing wasn't my thing, but Jaden enjoyed it, so that's what we were doing.
Jaden walked into my room, no doubt to make sure I was dressed hot enough for her, and after a short inspection, it seemed I'd passed. My hair was pinned up in a messy up-do that would keep the hair out of my face as I sweated.
Jaden was wearing a rose gold sequined dress that hugged her everywhere. Her natural curls were as springy as ever, but she went all out for her makeup. If there was one thing I knew about Jaden, tonight she'd want to be the center of attention. She'd get her wish looking like that.
"You look gorgeous," I smiled.
"And you look incredible. Ugh, if Dylan could see you now. He'd break up with Britt for you." I knew she was saying it to make me blush, and it worked. Really well.
"Shut up," I laughed sheepishly. "Where are Richard and his friends going?" I messed with the curled pieces framing my face, deciding how I wanted them to lay.
"I don't know. And I don't care. It's my last night as a single woman. I'm living it up tonight. You ready to go?"
I nodded to her, grabbing my purse, and I followed her out the door to the club we'd meet our friends at.
