Ellie's P.O.V.

I parked my car in one of  free parking spaces in front of the beach. 'What the hell am I doing here...' was the only thought in my mind in that moment. I got out of my warm car only to be greeted by the cold breeze that was coming from the sea.

Although it was the middle of the summer, there was no one on the beach, not only for the non-existing sun, but also the fact that it's pouring rain.

Liam was no here to be seen, even though he called me a few hours ago, asking me to meet him at the beach close to his house. I called him more than once, my voice getting a bit rough in the last attempts, due to the cold and rain.

I slid my phone of my pocket, but there were no missed calls or un-read messages. And it was already 7:26 pm, and steadily getting darker.

"Damn Liam, where the hell are you?' I asked, looking around at the empty, yellow beach. The wind and rain were calming down, but my soaked clothes were giving me the chills. The sun started to creep out behind the grey clouds, and I noticed something in the middle of the fog. A small, green tent was in the center of the beach, and a shiver ran down my spine - hoping it's Liam.

Stumbling up to the tent- and losing a shoe in the process- I saw a conch shell with Liam's perfect handwriting saying 'Follow the shells, El.' I smiled, and continued to follow the path that was laid down with little shells marked with colorful sharpies, saying  'I love you' or 'You're my everything', or even a simple heart drawn on it.

The pathway ended in the small tent, which was decorated with more shells around the entrance. This guy sure does know how to make a girl feel special.

"Li, are you there?" I asked, feeling a little scared. After all, I was alone, at a beach, and it was almost night... The perfect recipe for the disaster.

"Yeah, Ellie, come in" Liam's voice was shaking, the way it does when he's nervous. I followed his sweet voice, feeling a warm feeling in my belly, the same feeling I get every time I see him, or simply hear his voice. That's what some people call love- and I agree.

The view I got when I entered the tent was the cutest ever. Liam, wearing a 'tux shirt' with black pants, was standing in the middle of the tent, pacing around. Bouquets of lilacs were at his feet, and a box of chocolates was half-eaten, stranded on the sand. Little strings of lights were hanging all around the tent, making the dull green shine a vibrant hue.

"I thought you weren't going to come." He chuckled, sitting down, and patting the spot on the blue blanket next to him. I looked down at my clothes, all soaked and my feet covered with wet sand.

"Li, my clothes are all wet." I said, frowning. "Do you really want me close to you? I'm probably sick right now, and you will get sick too if you are close to me..."

"Well then it's better if I hurry up a little, no?"Liam asked, scratching the back of his neck.

'Yeah, I guess, but  hurry up with what?' I asked, naively.

Liam got up, on one knee, and searched for something on his pocket, getting out a little pastel velvet box.

"Liam, what are you doing?"I asked, now understanding the  plan.

"Ellie, do you remember our first date?"I nodded, remembering one of the best days of my life.

"Well, you said if someone ever proposed to you, it had to be on the beach. It wasn't supposed to be raining, but it was Niall's idea to propose me today, and I had to do it, so, even though it's rai...'

'Liam,' I said, grabbing both of his cheeks and planting a kiss on his forehead 'Love, you were rambling.'

'Yeah, right, no more rambling.' He said, trying to calm himself. I chuckled and nodded to him.
