WARNING: MENTIONS OF ABUSE
sooyoung carefully sorted through the loads of paperwork in her office, counting and storing each one with ease. she had been instructed to lock the office since her work amount has guaranteed her an overtime at her job. it was tolerable and okay for her since it meant that she could do whatever she wanted since she had the entire workplace to herself.
as she carefully opened drawers and stacked those manila folders in, she felt her phone vibrate in her pocket. she fished it out quickly and felt her skin crawl at the text message that flashed on her screen.
myungjun-babyy: sooyoung go home
myungjun was the boy she have loved since high school and she's never skipped a day without thinking of him. now, that they were officially together for three years, it's been a dream for her. sooyoung could never give myungjun up for anyone—that was how he mattered to her. she'd sacrifice everything else just to be with myungjun but it hurt her tk realize that myungjun would never do the same for her.
myungjun-babyy: i'll hit you again if you don't come home.
of course he did. even if she did come home early, safely and joyful, he'd still hit her with all of his power and anger. myungjun's abusive tendencies had gotten sooyoung to be blind in love. she's overlooked it so much that she passes it off as him being protective of his girl. the amount of purple bruises on her skin has increased and yet, no one has noticed. it was mainly the reason why she's been covering herself with the thickest and darkest clothing so no one could figure out what had happened to her. drinking was her only escape from the pain he's caused on her body and in her heart.
after minutes of cleaning up and locking up the office, sooyoung headed for the convenience store and bought herself a soju bottle to keep her awake. she had opened up one and drank with one of her hands stuffed in the pocket of her coat and as a normal part of her after work routine, she sat down opposite the tattoo parlor. afterwards, the smell of warm beef entered her nostrils and sooyoung can't help but look up and see a grinning jungkook who sat down beside her.
jungkook handed her the plastic container and the plastic fork but sooyoung raised an eyebrow, "what's this?"
"your dinner. i cooked it myself." he proudly stated and sooyoung smiled, "thanks, jungkook."
"what are you even doing out here, watching and drinking?" he questioned
"good question—i'm taking a break from the stress at work." sooyoung replied and jungkook nodded, "you work?"
"i do, i'm a fresh graduate."
"i'm a graduating student."
"go home and stay in school, kid." sooyoung said then sipped from her bottle while jungkook refused to stand and leave her alone, "i'm good right here."
"what are you even doing here anyway? this is sort of my own spot." sooyoung murmured, taking a huge sip of her alcohol. jungkook shrugged his broad shoulders and then pointed at the meal which he actually cooked for himself but on the way back to his apartment, he saw sooyoung and proceeded to give it away.
"well, that's your spot but this, right here, is mine." jungkook stated firmly then motioned to the particular spot he was sitting on. he received an eyeroll and that made him laugh as a response. he found sooyoung funny, in a sense that she had something which he hadn't seen in other girls in a while. jungkook glanced ahead of him and watched the same tattoo artist draw a weirdly detailed cartoon character on a woman's leg.
he assumed that sooyoung watched the scene unfold as well since she scoffed loudly, "she's gonna regret that shit."
"let her be, she's got one life anyway." jungkook muttered and sooyoung nodded, "yeah but i'm never going to get a detailed tattoo of patrick star on my leg."
"what's your dream tattoo then?" jungkook looked at her and raised one of his eyebrows in curiousity. sooyoung smirked and after taking a sip, answered his question, "a tattoo of the person i love so they won't be temporary anymore."
"was that supposed to be a dramatic relation of love and ink on skin?" he chuckled and sooyoung nodded, "i'm a funny girl, aren't i?"
jungkook heard her laugh and nodded, "a funny girl, indeed—but that's okay, i like funny."
