Chapter 6

No Control

The next morning I'm up before the sun peaks through the mountains. Looking to my left I notice my bed is empty but still hold the warmth from his body. Getting up I get a shower and dress in my normal knee high boots, black leggings and a navy blue corset tieing my hair in a tight ponytail. Once I've finished getting theres a light knock at my door.

"Come in" I shout towards the door not bothering to look, in enters John.

"Malady, I was told to inform you when Selena was ready to give birth." he says.

"Really? So soon, I thought she was days away. Let everyone know what requires my presence that I will be in the Holy Grounds with Selena." I reply while walking out of my room trying to keep my composure, just as I'm passing John he grabs my arm turning me towards him.

"Your not mad I left this morning are you?" he questions with worry in his eyes.

"No.." I pause trying to avoid his eyes "..

I know your mainly doing your... job"

As I spit out "job" I notice his eyes flash semi hurt and disappointment. John was fixing to say something when small group of the maids women walk past looking cautiously at John's hand gripping my forearm. Dropping his hand he takes a step back taking a knew bowing his head.

"My apologies Malady" he says.

'Why do you continously leave at night John' I ask him through our mindlink as he stands and we begin walking again, there are too many people around now that we are making our way into the town to have an open conversation about this.

'Kitten you know I can not stay anyone can walk in' he says sounding defeated.

I am casually greeting, smiling at the other temple member, picking up the children on the outside I look calm but inside I am burning with anger and sadness.

'Is that going to be your excuse. How long have we know about us being Mates? Over a month! And you still can't stay with me till the morning.. do you know how sad and angry that makes me?'

'I know.. I'm sorry but we can not risk it. The Transylvanian Society is still a danger to you.' After that John cuts the mind link as we reach the Holy grounds.

Were casted in my direction as many of Selena's family members smiled and greeted me. I see Selena Laying under the tree smiling towards me as I approach.

"Selena how are you sweetie?" I ask looking at her sweaty smiling face.

"I feel like I'm going to explode, but in a good way." She says.

Selena is one of my closest Maids and great friend. She was beautiful wavy brown shoulder length hair and the brightness green eyes I have even known. Seating next to her is her Mate Allan he is one of the hunters in the temple and a great man when it comes to Selena. I was the first to know about them being mated since it was she, I and Sue who were together walking from the market when they noticed each other. I had never seen Selena's face light up so much as when they first met and ever since I have been supporting them. I have sent Selena on secret erranda just so she could be with him. So at this moment I couldnt be more proud of Allan and Selena finally becoming parents.

"Are you excited to be a father Allan?" I say looking at his glowing face. I can obviously tell by his face but I always enjoy asking in these ceremonies.
