The talent show was gonna be in five different fields: dancing, music, drawing, acting and photography.

I'm not going to participate, even though I know I have a great chance of winning in music (not to brag, that's what I've been told).

In my class, Hannah, Denise, Marinette and Möger are going to take part in the talent show. Hannah signed up for photography, Denise and Möger for acting and Marinette for drawing.

I want to participate, and it's not too late to sign up, but there is also one person in my class that's participating in singing: none other than Dorine Ramirez, who had been pressuring me for days to not participate. She has even threatened me to break my vocal cords. Ouch. That's gotta hurt.

But when I saw my name there, I freaked out. Helga, Pam and Jules had marked it there, and I can't do anything about it.

Then, right after I saw it I heard a voice telling me to move. It was Lukas DiLavillant. He was signing up for music, and he also had a great chance of winning.

Time passed fast and I find myself awake three days later, getting ready for the show.

- I must be crazy for doing this, - I said.

- Don't worry honey, you'll do fine, - my mom said.

- Yeah totally, - said Julien.

As I was getting dressed in my pink dress, I was about to throw up. I went to school. I was scared. And after every contestant was called, it felt like my name being called. First, it was Kayla, it was Sarah, it was Ginnie, it was Brian and then Dorine. Each one of these wasn't good enough. Kayla was the best contestant of all, I think. My turn was after two contestants: Mary and Lukas. When it was Mary's turn, I saw Dorine, Mylèna and Chriesta slowly dragging Lukas to the bathroom. He was sleeping. They locked him there, using a broken toilet. Of course Mylèna and Chriesta did all the work because Dorine "hurt her hand."

When it was Lukas' turn, he was nowhere to be found. The parents looked everywhere for him, but it was helpless. He was sleeping. As I was about to say something, my friends pushed me to the stage, and as I was singing, I started dreaming. I always wanted to be a singer. It has been my dream since I was 4. The first time a entered a competition was when I was 6, got second place. The year after, I won first place. But we were all kids, what did we know about competition? But then, I had to take a surgery, because my vocal cords weren't working well. I fell into despair. I could lose my dream forever. When Dorine told me she was gonna break them, I had flashbacks from the painful surgery. But everything went well. Did it? No, I can't risk my vocal cords again. Dorine can definitely get too serious. Poor Lukas might be suffocating in the bathroom right now. This was one of the hardest decisions I have ever made. I stopped the song. I said:

- Lukas is in the bathroom! I saw someone locking him there!

- Who, - someone from the audience asked.

- It was Dor...

I'm gonna break your vocal cords.

- It was...

I'm gonna break your vocal cords.
I'm gonna break your vocal cords.
I'm gonna break your vocal cords.

- He was masked. I didn't see anything!

I shouted so much, I was about to faint. Everyone gasped. I turned towards Dorine. She gave me a death stare. Everyone went to the bathroom. I wad left there alone, with Dorine and her sidekicks behind me.

I sat there crying, with my knees open and my face in my hands. I was crying. I lost every chance of winning the competition. A part of me did want to win. I wanted to harm Dorine as much as I could. And the last thing I heard before fainting was:
