A loud crash came from their dining room causing Colby to jolt awake. He yawned and rubbed his eyes, before going to see what caused the noise.

"Babe, are you in here?" He mumbled walking into the room.

The older stifled a laugh as he saw Sam sitting in a pile of ornaments. Sam had decided that putting up decorations for Christmas was going to be his duty, so Colby let him. It was a mistake on his behalf, but at least Sam was enjoying it.

"How about you help me?" Sam said annoyed

Colby grabbed his hands and pulled him up from the ground. He pulled out a chair for him to sit, and put the ornaments back into the box. Lucky for them, they remembered to buy the shatterproof kind. Colby heard a quiet sniffle and looked up at Sam, who had a tear rolling down his cheek.

"What's wrong?" Colby whispered while sitting down and moving Sam onto his lap.

"I just wanted Christmas to be special this year Colbs" he muttered briefly using his nickname.

Colby knew why he was upset. It was their first Christmas as husbands, and Sam wanted to make it memorable. He wrapped his arms around the blondes waist and rested his chin on his shoulder.

"Its already special you idiot" he laughed.

"Why?" Sam said turning his head to look at him.

He took a deep breath, Colby was not the type to be sentimental. It took him a lot of encouragement from his friends for him to even propose to the younger.

"It's special because I have you by my side. Sam, we don't need to have a decorated house to enjoy Christmas together. We just need each other." Colby spoke nervously.

Sam did nothing but stand up and grab the box of ornaments. Colby was about to ask him what he was doing, but he noticed where the ornaments were being put. The back door creaked as Sam took the box and put it on the back porch, closing the door after stepping back inside.

"Okay. Then let's go watch a movie." Sam spoke smiling brightly.

"That sounds like a great idea Sammy" Colby smiled back at him and grabbed his hand leading him to their living room.
