You made me feel that heated fire,
That one I was sure I would not feel again.
The boy I had once loved turned out to be a liar,
So I closed those doors right then.
You filled a lost void in my heart,
One that made me doubt love.
You found a broken part,
But you put me first and above.
You made me doubt all I believed,
And you made me feel that familiar spark.
Love was something I didn't want to perceive,
But on me you left a special mark.
He had used me so effortlessly,
Something I wanted to subtly avoid.
He gave me false hopes recklessly,
He used to be that now lost void.
I was like every other girl,
Waiting eagerly for him to talk to me.
His actions made my head twirl,
I hadn't realized he played a game with me.
It was a love I so desperately wanted,
In that I found nothing but heartbreak.
It was him that left me taunted,
And left me to withstand the earthquake.
He had hurt me so vigorously,
Something you couldn't see me bear.
He did it so carelessly,
But all the while you were there.
You showed me real compassion,
You took all of me.
I thought I deserved an explanation,
For your generosity.
But I realized you'd love me nonetheless,
You weren't here to leave me deceived.
You'd cross an ocean relentless,
Relentless if I didn't want it perceived.
You are the life boat that left me sinking,
Drowning deeply in your infatuation.
I forgot about his devilish winking,
And you left me in an adoring situation.
You sang me beautiful melodies,
And read me alluring books.
You let me lay against your body,
While you murmured soft words with a calm look.
It was you I was meant to let in,
To show me a love so beautiful.
It was you who took the final win,
Seeing me anything but pitiful.
You fixed a broken heart,
And in that I found your magnificence.
He pulled me viciously apart,
But with you I found who I truly was.—Desperosity Will Not Get The Best Of Me//Shanielle Fiddler
