I hear the shovels as each person I loved that has died for me lays a pile of dirt over me. Prim, Cinna, Finnick, Boggs, Castor, Jackson, Cato, Clove, Rue... The list goes on and on. Foxface, Marvel, Glimmer, Mags, The Morphling. The list is still going until I think I have woken up but I still hear the digging of the shovel into the soil rich and moist. I sprint downstairs to see the baker's son standing outside, my ocean blue eyed love, my strong man, my other half, my everything.
I realize that I have opened the door and sprinted outside when I feel the cool summers breeze that caresses my skin in a gentle touch. He realizes me staring at him admiring his work and he turns around. I sigh a sigh of both happiness and sadness as I whisper,
"Peeta."
"Hey Katniss, look what I found blooming in front of the meadow. I glance down to the sprout in his hands, it looks like a rose and I almost scream at him but I soon realize that they are not just roses, it is Primrose. The plant my sister was named after. I immediately collapse to the ground as waves of sobs and rip and tear at my body.
Peeta immediately rushes over to me and hold me in a tight embrace as our bodies melt together as one, our bodies snugly rest in each others curvature. you can hear him and I sigh as we both have craved for each others embrace for so long. My sobs start to stop and Peeta holds me tighter as if he might lose me if he lets go, he will lose me because I am lost without him to hold me steady.
"Can I ask you something?" Peeta ponders.
"Anything," I reply in a whisper.
"I...Will...You... Damn it." He says angrily.
"What is it?" I ask. It seems like years have passed be fore he says in a hushed tone,
"Will you stay with me?" He asks like old times.
"Always."
