A Decima For The Church

On a summer evening, I stride

Beneath a sky of white and blue

Pondering what is false and true.

With all the world's swagger and pride

I find it difficult to hide

My disdain for the shallow masks

And materialistic tasks

Of many churches and preachers

Who have failed as homes and teachers.

Do they in God's love truly bask?
