mackenzie opened her front door to find johnny staring back at her and smiling radiantly. he bowed jokingly. "your chariot awaits."

"fucktard." mackenzie giggled, shutting the door behind her. "you're not a gentleman."

"you're right, i'm not." he laughed, swiping mackenzies beanie off her head as they walked down her steps.

"hey!" mackenzie yelled, chasing him to his car and laughing. she was annoyed, and knew she'd have terrible hat hair.

johnny stood in front of the door to the passengers side, putting the beanie behind his back. they were both out of breath. "what are you going to do to get it back?" he asked suggestively.

"well..." she let her voice trace off teasingly, and leaned in as if to kiss him- but kneed him in the balls instead.

johnny let out out shout, doubling over and laughing in pain. he handed her the beanie while still crouched over.

"that's what i thought." mackenzie giggled. she used the beanie to whack him over the face.

johnny leant his hands on his knees and slowly got up. "you pack one hell of a punch." he mused. finally, he opened the car door and ushered her inside.

she got in, laughing, and waited for him to get into the drivers seat. he did, and turned his back to mackenzie after pulling up his shirt. "proves my point."

mackenzie gasped, looking at the long, red scratches up and down his back. she had no words. he turned around to face her again, raising an eyebrow. "you did that." he accused.

"i-" no words came to mackenzies mouth. she turned to look out the window, knowing her cheeks were bright red.

johnny started the car. he was laughing. "i've never met someone that gets so embarrassed so easily."

"i'm glad you think my innocence is funny." mackenie mumbled, avoiding his amused gaze. she was awestruck. had she really done that?

he placed a hand on her thigh. "i don't think it's funny. i think it's cute. and anyway, i'll get to be your first for everything. that makes me happy."

mackenzie grinned, placing her hand on top of his. he had no idea how much that made her insides warm. somehow, in making this to do list for her sister, she'd found love.

at the ice skating rink, they skated and talked and laughed. then they fell over and smiled over and over and over again.

they got members of the public to take pictures of them and johnny's hands snaked around mackenzies waist lovingly. even when the pictures were taken, he refused to let go of her all afternoon. they continued awkwardly skating around the arena, listening and singing to the christmas music while they shared conversation.

she thought she saw a glimspe of nadia, darius, lauren, and will, but johnny assured her it wasn't them. she was glad, and happy with him. happy with the way he made her feel. happy.
