I was deep in shit.
And I was not talking about knee deep in shit, I was at least waist deep in this shit.
I clutched my PDW-R, ready to take the shot. In the meantime, I managed to get a good look at the two "girls" that were with me. 416 and G11... Whilst at first they may seem gloomy, it is easy to notice that when the combat starts, they get a lot of energy. Smaller doll seemed to overcome her sleepyness and now was rechecking her rifle, keeping guard up for any unwanted visitors. Suddenly, several clungs were heard outside and small lines were visible behind the windows.
- Fuck. - I cursed under my breath, switching the safety off and moving out of the windows' sightline.
- Rappelling. - stated the obvious G11, throwing a quick glance at the shaking lines and steadily loudening noise of tapping the walls.
- First or second floor? - asked 416 ironically, in a teasing way.
- Second. They know we are here. - replied the smaller "girl", grunting. We quietly started moving, and I noticed that every now and then I was watching the clock on my watch, hoping that the extraction team would make it in that one fucking hour.
- Um... to ask... - I said a bit silently.
- What? - 416 answered with question.
- What is that AR team?
- AR team is a team working on the same side as we do. But we hate them. Pieces of shit got a much better life than we did, always getting all the funds and attention, while we had almost none of that.
- I see... Sorry for asking.
- Don't be. - replied G11, looking at me. - You didn't knew, and now you do, so you won't ask. Cut the chatter.
- Copy... - I said, getting silent and constantly keeping my guard up. At the moment I finished speakking, we heard the windows below us were broken, releasing the sound of something hitting the floor heavily.
- They're inside. - I said, clutching the PDW closer to myself, trying to calm my somewhat shaky hands. While I was a mechanic, I rarely faced a situations like that - the adrenaline was making me all pumped up. I aimed down the sights, walking between the two down the stairs..
Only to notice four grunts aimed at the doorway, focused on prying the doors open. Oh right.. I locked the attic, which had the connection to the garage. They might be thinking that I locked myself out in the workshop... too bad.
- Weapons free. - said 416, switching the safety off, aiming at the team and firing rather quickly. G11 and myself joined her, firing our unsuppressed weapons and tearing apart the unlucky bastards... which seemed to be another robot squad. Damn it.
- Enemy down. - I said, checking my magazine.
- They know we went downstairs, and that you are armed. They'll rush us, and snipers will try to- she was cut off by a sniper round hitting the pot next to her, making us rush to the floor.
- I think you may be a fucking wizard 416, because you called it! - I hissed, aiming at the window above us.
- How much time before the exfil? - G11 asked, and I checked my watch again.
- 30 minutes. Just hang on tight.
- I am, and I am more worried about you. You may be a worthless bag of meat and blood.. - stated 416, glaring at me - but you managed to save my existence, so you are a bit more worth that the four we just killed.
- I would say thanks, but I sensed the irony in that statement. - I replied, gritting my teeth.
- Relax. She just hates everyone, just like me. - added G11. - Kinda emo if you'd were to ask me.
