I sat on the couch in the hotel room flipping through the channels. Nothing good is on this late at night. I sighed and turned on the news. I got up to go check on Khalil. He was sleep on my bed. I kissed his cheek and pulled the covers up on him. I went back up front and sat back on the couch. I got my laptop and started back on my homework. I was in mid-thought when I heard "BREAKING NEWS". I looked at the tv. Three guys where trying to rob a liquor store. The owner saw them outside and called the police. I shook my head, stupid. Stupid stuff like this is why I want to leave here. "one of the three guys got shot by the store owner. 20 year old Tyler Young. The owner panicked and opened fire on the three men." I shook my head. Part of me felt bad because I never wish a bullet upon no one, but the other part of me is like "he shouldn't have tried to rob a store". I didn't want to hear anything else about this. I was about to turn when his name popped up....his mug shot was on the screen....I just stared at it....I went to school with him....Daniel Wilson...I shook my head. I'm glad I didn't try to talk to him. He is just trouble. I turned the tv off. I went back to work. I got a text from my brother Darius. "Yo sis your car downstairs. Mar and I will be back in two days. Some shit came up with one of our niggas and we gotta deal with it. Love you. Kiss Khalil for us. Stay safe." I nod. This is nothing new. I reply back. "ok Dar. Love y'all too" . That's enough for one night. I close my laptop and got ready for bed. I cut the lights off and got in the bed next to Khalil. I wrapped my arms around my baby and closed my eyes.

Marcus and Darius isn't back yet and my mom has been blowing up my phone. She keeps leaving me voicemails with her cussing me out and calling me names. Wow, you supposed to be my mom tho.....ok. I got ready and got Khalil ready so I can take him over to his daddy house. Rolls my eyes. I went and dropped Khalil off. I met the girls at the mall just to chill and go window shopping.

J:yeah, how you know?
T:I saw it on the news. How you know him?
K:he's my boyfriend

J:Daniel and Chris tryna post bail.
T:oh
K:I heard they getting help.
J:you heard?
K:ok ok they getting help. But it's a fight.

K:....black boys....robbing a store at gun point...got caught...yeah

T:look that was then, this is now. I got a child and I have school. I don't have time.

We went and got something to eat. My friends are crazy. Jassy and Kayla are my sisters though. I texted Darius about the idea. It's not a bad one if you ask me. But one thing kept sliding in front of all that....Daniel Wilson. Oh great, here we go again.....High school.
