I was running for the ball and then BAM my foot slipped and my head hit the  ground. Ouch.  I tried to stand up but suddenly everyone was crowding around me. Then everything went black.

It felt weird, but I stood up with the help of my friend Liam. After offering me his hand, he walked to the first aid to bandage up my knee. Then he asked if my head was okay and I said I had a headache but otherwise I was okay. Suddenly my head began to pound and I closed my eyes. When they opened, I was still on the ground where I fell and everyone was still staring at me. I guess I had just dreamt that everything was okay.

Liam put both arms under my back and knees and hoisted me up in one swift motion. He ran towards an ambulance that was suddenly already there. I tied to ask him how it got there so fast but my mouth suddenly felt frozen shut. Now that I mention it, my whole body felt frozen. Crap. "Hey Roxy, I think something is seriously wrong right now. I mean," he breathed in very deeply and let his worried look settle in even more, "you fell really hard onto the sand and as soon as your head hit the ground, your whole body went limp. We called an ambulance and.." By the time he got to this point in the story he had to leave me to the paramedics.

All of the paramedics looked at me with frantic faces as they began to grab needles and an oxygen mask. They shoved it onto my face and asked me a series of questions. "Can you feel this?" Apparently they were touching me. "Um no." My voice was muffled from the oxygen mask. "How about this?" I just nodded no each time they asked. They all gave each other a look and then glanced back at me and tried to put on brave smiles. "Okay we're bringing you to North Carolina medical hospital. So, do you need us to call anyone?" "Um yeah my mom and dad..." Then I listed off their numbers and they called my poor unsuspecting parents. I could tell by the paramedics' calming voices that my parents were freaking out. They had already dealt with enough this year with the divorce, but now this.

About ten minutes after I was situated into a hospital bed, I felt a tap on my shoulder and I tried to hold up my arm to Liam's shaking hand. He just stared into my eyes and he began to tear up. I muttered, "Don't cry Liam. Please." "Roxy, you can't even move. What happened?" He sounded angry, with a raspy tone of voice. I had never seen him like this, so panicked; not in control. Then his reddish brown hair dangled over his eyebrows, he pushed it back and turned around in one fast motion. As he walked away I noticed something red was below my eye level. When I looked down my IV was ripped out of my arm and blood was gushing everywhere. I can't stand needles in the first place, so when I saw this I shrieked at the top of my lungs. Liam turned back towards me only to catch me panicking hysterically. Then I remembered the last time our friend Kara was bleeding, he nearly fainted. Before either of us could say anything, he pressed the button that says nurse and fell to the ground.

As I had laid there waiting for a nurse to come, I panicked even more. My arm was gushing blood and I couldn't even feel it. Liam was passed out on the ground and he hit his head. And to top it all off, my breaths began to become rapid and short. When the nurse walked in her eyes looked as if they couldn't get any wider. She ran over to me first and bandaged my arm. I was still breathing incorrectly but I tried not to show it because I wanted her to make sure that Liam was alright first. By the time she brought him to his feet, his eyes were open and his arm was bruised and swollen. I tried to tap the nurse to tell her that I couldn't breathe but then I remembered that I couldn't move my arm. I tried to tell her but I couldn't get the words out. Liam looked in my direction and grabbed the nurse and the oxygen mask and handed it to her. Suddenly everything went black once again, great.

I woke up with my IV reattached and oxygen mask still on. When I looked around I noticed that there was a bed pulled up next to mine. My eyes were still blurry and I was groggy from the medicine that was streaming through my veins. Finally the image became clear and I realized it was Liam laying next to me. His arm was in a bright green cast, his favorite color, and the bump on his head was less swollen. He looked at me, "Hey hun." Um okay this was weird, he never called me anything but Roxy. What was up. That's when I looked to see that his IV had some weird medicine dripping into it, he must have been on laughy gas or something. Then I decided it was time to have some fun with the situation.

"So Liam how do you feel?" I couldn't help but giggle at his droopy expression. "I feel nice and well with this 'ol laughy gas they gave me here. And I'm sure you're doing great with those drugs in ya huh?" This medicine sure was bringing out his southern side. "Hahaha Liam, yes I am feeling a little better, thanks. So you broke your arm?" "What?" Then he looked down, obviously not remembering anything. "I broke my arm? When? Ahhhhh." "Liam you don't remember hahaha?" "I do, I'm just messin' with ya Rox." His hair was in his face and I had this urge to move it. Before I could even think about it, my arm rose and pushed his brown locks to the side. He was too loopy to even realize what I did. Then suddenly I realized... I JUST MOVED MY ARM. Then I wiggled my toes and crinkled my nose and suddenly I could feel everything again.
