~Hartley High School Basketball Championship Game.~
"Cameron, Cameron, Cameron!!!" Here I am about to shoot the basket that determines if we win or not. Talk about no pressure.
I shoot it with all I've got like I do every time I shoot.
All eyes are on the ball everything is going in slow motion. I can feel the butterflies in my stomach fluttering non stop.
I close my eyes and immediately hear cheering.
"Cameron, Cameron, Cameron!!!"
A smile spreads across my face and I open my eyes and see a my team screaming and jumping as they run to me.
They swarm me in hugs and pats on the back. Some painful than others out of excitement.
"You did it girl!" My best friend Maddie said as she hugged me. Yes I'm a girl don't let the name and basketball stuff fool you.I hugged her back tightly.
"No We Did It." we laugh and the coach hands me the trophy. I stare at it in amazement Maddie and I share eye contact we smile then she grabs part of the trophy forcing it in the air. The crowd cheers get louder and I finally can cross this victory off my goal list.
We start heading to our locker rooms before I was pulled back by someone.
"Cameron can I have your autograph?" asks a nerdy looking boy.
"Sorry not now but meet me back here when everyones gone" I say
He smiles wide showing all thirty two with metal braces on them.
"Don't forget by the way I'm Daniel-
"Cameron come on!"
I nod at him and quickly join my team.
After a victory party and countless amounts of food I'm completely exhausted and I probably will be sleeping in late tomorrow.
"I'm so proud of you" was the last thing I heard from my mother as I fell asleep on my way home.
Seems like the perfect way to start off a story, right? We all know it won't last forever though. It's predictable. All good things must come to a end. I never imagined my good thing would be coming to the end it did though.....
~|2 years later|~
"Come on Cameron you have to exercise that leg" I hear Maddie say.
Obviously something bad has happened and that bad thing is I injured my leg. I went into professional ball playing and sadly got injured 4 months ago.
"I know but Maddie I've been trying for four months now I don't think I'll be able to recover without professional help." I say.
"What you tryna say?" she says in a threatening tone.
You're suck at this "Nothing, Nothing but I have other options and I want to exploit those options" I say
"Fine I have to go anyway another player in need" she grabs her things and leave.
I quickly grab my phone a request a professional trainer.
"Hi this Cameron Rose-
"Hello Mrs. Rose I assume you're in need of some professional help with that leg?"
"Yes" I chuckle slightly at the excitement in the persons voice
"Daniel Simmons is amazing. One of our best trainers he should be at your home early tomorrow if you want him"
"U-Uh sure if he's as good as he sounds way not try it. My address is 223 Hollywood Lane."
"Okay is that all?"
"Yup Thanks" I hang up prepared to take a nap until there was a knock at the door. I look at door and scream in my head at the distance from it to my couch. Can't wait until tomorrow.
