A Different Ending (A Warrior cats au)

Nine lives

Hollyleaf opened her eyes to a forest of stars. In front of her was Firestar, who looked confused as to her presence. "Where is Brambleclaw, Hollyleaf?" he said looking around. A blue-grey she-cat walked from the bushes towards the two. "Bluestar!" cried out Firestar. "My dear apprentice do not fret, Brambleclaw has made her his deputy. He step down, making her the next leader," Bluestar spoke looking tenderly at Hollyleaf. "If you don't mind me asking, why did Brambleclaw step down?" asked Hollyleaf softly. "To save you dear," Bluestar answered. Six more cats emerged from the bushes. Hollyleaf recognized some like Ashfur, Fallen Leaves, and Feathertail, but the rest she didn't. The first cat looked like Cinderheart but they were limping, the second cat was a golden tabby, and the third cat was a tortoiseshell. Ashfur walked up first, "With this life I give you the strength of love." Pain shot through Hollyleaf but was soon replaced with a warm fuzzy feeling. "I am so sorry," whispered Ashfur before walking away. Dizzy, Hollyleaf had barely heard what Ashfur said before Feathertail was in front of her, "With this life I give you the need to protect those who cannot protect themselves." Hollyleaf felt like she was walking on water. Fallen Leaves stepped up next, "With this life I give you the strength to know right and wrong." Hollyleaf felt like she was drowning, as the air left her lungs. The golden tabby was next, "Dear Hollyleaf, I am Goldenflower, Brambleclaw's mother, the life I give you is a mother's guidance." Hollyleaf felt safe and warm, a feeling she hadn't felt in so long. The tortoiseshell walked up next, "I am Spottedleaf young one, the life I give you is kindness." Hollyleaf felt as if she was set on fire, and her knees felt as if she had walked to the forest territories and back. She stood, trying her best not to fall over. The Cinderheart look alike was next, "With this life I give you the ability to heal wounds." Hollyleaf's eyes widened instead of pain, like she expected, strength returned to her body. Bluestar approach next, "With this life I give you the ability to make the right decisions for the clan." Sadness poured into Hollyleaf's bones. Firestar walked up next, "With this life I give you the knowledge of those before you." Hollyleaf felt that she could fight a thousand enemies. No other cats came up, leaving Hollyleaf with eight lives, even though leaders are supposed to receive nine. Before any one could speak the ninth cat came running. And it was Mothwing! "Sorry for being late, I was helping my clan. Anyway, with this life I give you the ability to help those find the right path." Hollyleaf felt betrayal and pain rush through her. She barely had time to question how a living cat could give her a leader's life before the cats around her started chanting her new name. "Hollystar! Hollystar! Hollystar!" Hollystar opened her eyes to Brambleclaw and Mothwing standing over her. "Hollystar may not be your kit but she is still part of my family. It was my choice to give her a life. Please understand that, brother," meowed Mothwing. "I wasn't questioning your intentions, Mothwing, I was questioning your sudden fate in Starclan," stated Brambleclaw. Hollystar let out a small cough to get the half-siblings attention. "Oh! Sorry Hollystar, we didn't know you were awake," murmured Brambleclaw. "That's okay Brambleclaw. Now lets go home," responded Hollystar. Standing all three cat left the Moonpool, heading towards the Thunderclan camp.
