Amber's POV

I dialled the number on the note and held the phone to my ear as it rang.

"Hello, United States Secret Service how may I help you?" a female voice answered.

"Um hello, I'm calling uh- well I actually need a few questions answered- um..." I stammered not exactly knowing what to say.

"Alright," the woman replied, "Start by telling me your name, and then ask me any questions you may have."

"Ok, I'm Amber McCoy and-" she cut me off.

"Amber McCoy, as in Dylan Hunter's girlfriend?" the woman asked.

"Uh yeah- was- um we kinda aren't together..." I blinked back the threatening tears.

"Oh I'm sorry," she answered genuinely.

"It's alright. But I do have a question, how do you know me?"

"Oh," she laughed nervously, "Um, I guess you don't know who I am. I'm Jordan Baker," she answered.

My jaw dropped open.

"You're Jordan?" I paused to chuckle, "I haven't seen you since high school!"

"Yeah, well, it's great to hear from you!" she said excitedly.

"Yeah um... So do you mind answering a few questions?" I asked.

"Not at all," she said politely.

"Ok, well, since you're answering the phone I'll tell you, I didn't know you worked for the USSS." I was actually surprised to hear her answering the phone.

"Uh yeah. I used to actually be an offical agent for the USSS, but I had an injury, like my left leg got uh- ok it's kinda gory, but there was an explosion, and the bottom half of my left leg got blown off."

"Uh ok... Spare me the details as much as possible!" I said laughing aloud.

I heard her laugh along.

This whole conversation is surprising me a bit. Jordan and I never had a friendly conversation. Most of the time when I saw her in high school, our conversations mostly consisted of hostile glares, rough language, and occasional fighting. It was actually great to talk to her in a joking and friendly manner.

"Alright, well I had to get most of my leg amputated, so I'm left with a small stub. I have a metal leg that I wear. I guess the USSS thought I would be better sitting at a desk answering phones and doing paperwork with my dead leg, instead of dealing with the bad guys. Personally, I would rather be out there near the danger," she chuckled and I smiled.

"Well, I guess you were always like that, sporty and everything," I told her.

"Yeah, um so any other questions?" she asked.

"Yeah I- well Dylan actually received a package, and so I picked it up for him," I said flatly trying to keep the emotion out of my voice, "Since he kind of can't..." I continued with a mumble

"Yeah um about Dylan, we haven't heard from him in nearly a year," she told me.

"Oh uh, you were in contact with him?" I asked, surprised. I pressed my lips together in anger. Dylan was in contact with Jordan?

"I- uh- actually a friend and I were talking about you today." She told me

"Talking about me? Why?" I asked clearly surprised.

"Well him and I were talking about Agent Hunter and we found-"

"Agent Hunter?" Why did they call him that.
