Jaylen's POV
"Mom please stop kissing me." She's been such an emotional wreck since she found out I wanted to leave the state to go to college.
"I-I can't, why do you have to leave so soon, the semester doesn't start until another 3 weeks." She cried a little harder holding my baby picture to her chest.
"Mom because I told you a million times I want to get there early to get a room, they are first come first serve." I grabbed more clothes and put them in my Louis Vuitton suitcase perfectly and neatly folded, I was lying to my mom about the rooms but only because I seriously just don't wanna be here anymore.
I've lived her my whole life stuck up in this house without freedom and now I'm finally of age I'm getting the hell out of here.
But yea so what it's 3 weeks early, y'all don't understand how annoying my mom is man.
"Jaybear sweetheart why didn't you let Marcy pack your bag for you." My dad walked in walking past my crying mother.
"Because dad I'm capable of packing my own bag." I told him knowing where this conversation was about to go.
"Well that's what Marcy is here for to help you with things like packing your bag and making you food and tying your shoes and-." "Dad I assure you I know how to pack my own bag as well as do other shit by myself." I stood my ground taking him aback a little then he smiled.
"I'm sorry jaybear.. honey I'm just gonna miss you so much." My mom spoke up out of nowhere "And what about your cute little girlfriend, what's her name again? Detra.. Deta,. No no I got it this time ..Denita.. Debora... De-."
"Deja mom her name is Deja, and I told you we broke up 3 years ago .. she cheated on me." I slammed my suitcase onto the ground startling my mother and my dog who was laying silently on my bed just waiting to leave right along with me.
"Oh.. well." She said more of a whisper of disappointment before my dad's face lit up once more.
"What do you say about getting our favorite caramel frappe from Dunkin' Donuts once more before you leave for 4 years?" He put his hand on my shoulder and I just nodded my head because I know he wouldn't take no for a answer.
"Alright then, you get Jamal and Marcy help you take your bag to your mother's car since she's taking you to airport, and I'll go freshen up a little." He smiled and did a little happy dance out of my room causing my eyes to roll to the back of my head.
My plane departs in four hours it won't hurt to do something as a father, daughter date one more time.
"Mom come on.. please get yourself together." I walked to her as Jamal and Marcy walked in grabbing three suitcases each and grabbing King, my Pomeranian Poodle.
"Why did you have to pick a college so far from here? Why could you just go to the one out here they gave you a full ride and yet you want to spend money on a plane ticket and money on a house or apartment down in Texas." I face palmed myself and went to go sit on my bed, I can't tell her the truth because it'll break her heart but I seriously cannot stay here any longer.
19 years here going on twenty in a 2 months, I can't stay here any longer and don't get me wrong I love them dearly but they can be a hassle.
For example when I finally cane out as gay my mom cried because she wants grandkids and my dad basically threw me a "faggot party".
The wants grandkids but he accepted the fact faster than my mom did, even though I'm pretty sure he already knew by how I dressed and how I declined every time he went and bought my mother gifts from "pink".
