Chapter Two: I’m Wide awake

Jesse Park’s POV:

“She’s in a coma at the moment; she should wake up on her own in a few hours. We just gotta give time for the venom to flow through her body or she won’t survive” Megan the pack nurse said as she continued to check the girl over. “You should go get some rest, I’ll let you know when Maxi wakes” she says giving me a sympathetic look. “Maxi?” I whisper confused on what she’s talking about. “That’s her name. Beautiful isn’t it?” she says turning back to the girl who goes by the name of Maxi with a smile on her face. I nod in agreement. It was a pretty name. I can’t help but smile at how well it suites her.

Maxi Violet Kya’s POV:

I woke up to a light beeping in my ear. What’s going on? I scream when I hear the next words. “When the daylight's fading, we're gonna play in the dark 'Til it's golden again, and now it feels so amazing, can't see it coming, and we'll never grow old again” “Make it stop” I plead out loud still unable to open my eyes. “Please. Stop” I continue to plead trying to cover my face with my hands only to find them being restrained. “Shuuush” someone soothes from next to me. “Please” I beg again unable to stop the tears that fall. “I don’t want it to end”.

Jesse Park’s POV:

I watch as she continues to have nightmares, feeling helpless in my own skin. There’s nothing I can do or say to help her. The wolf will work on its own accord, but it will never heal the emotional pain she’s going to suffer. You can already see the wolf working fast on her physical injuries. It shouldn’t be long until she’s awake now.

Maxi Violet Kya’s POV:

I flutter my eyes open. Wincing at the slight pain in my eyes as I do so. Quickly recovering I swallow the lump in my throat. Where am I? I almost jump when I feel something heavy holding my little hand. Looking down at my hands I slowly rub my fingers along the soft yet rough skin of the mystery hand holding mine. Smiling to myself I slowly move my gaze up the arm of the stranger until I see his face. Green eyes shine back into mine. Those perfect green eyes. I know them. “You’re awake” he says making me jump a little at how surprisingly strong yet calming his voice is. Canadian. That’s the accent he has. But who is he? I still don’t know where I am? Before I can ask anything he realizes my hand and bolts out the door. That was strange, whats going on? Not a minute after he leaves the room do I hear a loud scream of what sounds like happiness? Can you scream in happiness? That’s what it sounds like anyway.

Jesse Park’s POV:

I can’t contain the joy I felt when those ocean blue eyes opened anymore. I had to leave her hospital room just so I could scream in happiness. I just saved the only thing that can hold this family together.
