My names Siena I live in an average house, I have an average life, I'm not the prettiest of all girls and I never ever get noticed; I'm what you call a clown? Yes, I think that suits me, a clown, the one that everyone laughs at because number one, I'm dumb and the answers I give out in class are even stupider, I have no life outside of school that people actually know of, you'd probably expect most 17 year old girls going out to parties every night, hooking up with boys and living the high school life to the fullest before it's all over, but nope, that's to mainstream. I think the idea of living life to the fullest is lying in bed with a packet of chips and a remote.
As it was the first day of the final semester of the last year of school, you'd expect anyone to be nervous, and to make it worse my best friend Hope left for America last week, so I;m forced to live in boring old Sydney with no friends and just patience. As I walked down the hallway of the worse place on earth I kept getting these pitiful looks from strangers I've never seen before, they must know that I'm now a complete loner. I quickly ran to my locker knowing that class started almost two minutes ago and grabbed my literature things and ran to class. As I approached the classroom everyone was already in their seats, and to my amazement the only seat that was left was the one next to my junior year enemy, Luke Hemmings. I rolled my eyes knowing that this was going to be a long period and opened the door.
"Ms Young, you're late." Mr McDonna said.
"I know sorry, there was traffic." I said raising an eyebrow at him.
He quickly turned around continueing his conversation with a young blonde as I took my seat next to 'Satan.' I put my books on my desk and quickly put my phone back in my pocket, as I felt someone breathing down my neck.
"Hello, Siena"
I heard a familiar voice greet me. I looked up from my lap to see Luke Hemmings giving me the same old smug look I remember from those three odd years ago.
"You're to close, Hemmings" I said glaring at him, trying to stop myself from going red.
"Well, you better get used to it because I hear that we're not aloud to move seats until the end of the year." He winked, then quickly sat down before the Mr McDonna started talking again.
I then quickly put my brown hair back in a bun and faced the teacher waiting for instructions.
"Good morning to you all I hope you had a great holiday, but I hate to break it to you you're back to reality o get used to it." He said obviously an indirect to Luke as we all know this is probably the last time we'll see him in class before he skips the rest of the semester.
"Now, I hate to give you an assignment on the first day of school, but that's what I'm doing. This will be a partner activity so it's your responsibility to choose them, you have one minute." As he said that my heart dropped knowing that Hope wasn't here, as everyone looked around and finally chose partners I was still alone, this can't be good.
"Good, now who doesn't have a partner?" He said sympathetically.
I then raised my hand shyly knowing how humiliating this is. I then looked around me to find none other than Luke Hemmings' hand up as well.
"Right Hemmings and Young you'll be together, don't disappoint me you two, trouble makers." He glared
As Mr McDonna finished explaining the details about the assignment he left the rest of the lesson to planning with your partner. I qquickly took off my jumer and covered my face with it so I couldn't see Luke.
"Siena?" he whispered loud enough for the second row to hear him.
I quickly began to fake snoring to make him go away, but that didn't work he just began laughing like a maniac, but that laugh, I've missed it a lot. I then took the stripy njumper off my head and glared at him.
"Let's plan, mate." I said punching him softly so he'd stop laughing.
"Sure 'mate'" he said mimicking me.
"I'm obviously doing this assignment all by myself so, actually, there's no need to plan." I snapped.
He then raised his hands in surrender and sat down.
"You're coming over tonight, to my house and we'll do it there."
"No." I said firmly.
"Yes." He said looking at me straight in the eye, remembering that always got me, boy was he a charmer.
"Fine, but no funny business, I'll be there at eight." I said as the bell rang.
