Heart of a Guardian

Chapter 4

The four of you made your way towards the heart of the facility. Killing off any HIVE creature that dared to approach or attack you. Within half an hour the four of you stood before the large Ogre you had seen much earlier this day. >>Hello Big Boy.<< Mike called out making it turn towards you. The Beast was massiv. It's large head held no eyes, only what seemed like a bubble with many dots and points in it. It's mouth with big sharp theeth opened to release a blood freezing cry. In the same moment the third Titan whose name you had by now learned was Jaden patted your shoulder. >>This would be a good moment to start running. Charge up your Focus and release it's power when Mike gives the sign.<< he muttered. The words had no time sinking, being washed away by the loud scream immediatly. Instict took over your body, moving it away as the Ogre began to move. The large Tentacle like hat it wore wobbling each step.
The next minutes felt like an eternity. Running, dodging, shooting being aware of your surroundings at all times as to not be blown to bits and pieces by the weird self destructing HIVE creatures.
Finally Mike moved, glowing orange and crying >>Attack! Give me everything you guys have!<< watching as he formed a Hammer in his hands, that engulfed into flames, throwing it with beautyfull accuracy at the Ogre. The other two Titans following suit with the very same focus. Jumping out from cover you began running, focusing solely on releasing whatever Energie you had been storing engulfing further into the Hot source of Energy inside of yourself and you could imagine it. The Revolver stored away in a case on your leg began burning, drawing out the revolver in one Swift move you aimed at the Ogres head, which really was easier said then done with the Beast constantly moving from several Hammers hitting it. Finally getting a good angle of it you shot three times in quick succession. The Beast cried out moving it's claws before it's face to shield it's weakspot from being further attacked.
Feeling drained you came crashing to the ground, breathing felt difficult. You felt the need to remove your helmet. But the damn thing wouldn't come off. >>Stop that Hunter!<< Grim called out from wherever he was and something small hit you next. >>Pick up your gun and fight! The Ogre's still there!<< he called. Lifting your head you saw the Ogre with it's back to you. Following Mike with a purple like Lazor that was shot from it's weird head. >>Stand up!<< Jaden scolded grabbing your cloak and lifting you off the ground. Dangling from his grip you noted that he hadn't actually lifted you off the ground, but the ground wasn't there in the first place. Blinking in shock you where then placed back on your feet before the cloak could rip anymore than it had already done. Climbing back to your feet you hripped onto Jadens arm. >>Thank you. Now let's do this!<< Jaden grinned shoving your Rifle into your arms.
It was a feeling of incredible luck and relief as the Beast finally fell dead to the ground. Leaving back a weird shaped orb. >>That's a coded Engramm. The Kryptarch in the Tower will give you a reward for each Engramm you give him.<< Mike explained. >>Some of them are actually worth pretty rare Equipment. >>He'll give me Equipment?<< you asked frowning under the helmet. >>There's nothing more important for us Guardians than to have exotic equipment. First of you'll need to get to that standard where you receive Exotics and after that you'll get more.<< Grim explained as you picked up the Orbs and returned to the Hangar in which four ships had settled and waited. >>We're flying back to the Tower together. We need to report to Zavala. And you need to report to Cayde.<< Mike said as all of you walked to your individual ship.
Landing on the Plattform the four of you went towards the Hall of the Vanguards where Zavala and Cayde awaited you. Both standing at the end of the table talking to each other while Ikora was nowhere to be seen. >>We have already heard of your accomplishment. Well done Guardians. All of you. If the two of you excuse me and my Titans now.<< Zavala nodded towards Cayde who waved at you with a friendly smile. >>Let's have a small walk and leave the Titans to their Titan stuff.<< Cayde spoke already by the stairs and you hurried to catch up to him.
>>You did especially well today, kid.<< Cayde said as you slowly walked up the stairs, past the various busy people. >>To be honest I already doubted that you would survive. But you did. And that, my friend, is a massiv accomplishment in itself.<< he spoke >>Thank you, Cayde.<< you told him and he smiled, at least it seemed like he smiled. >>So how was your first Hunt?<< Cayde than asked turning towards another set of stairs. >>Exciting.<< you replied climbing the stairs behind him and following him over a small field to another entrance leading down the Tower. >>Have they taught you to use your Focus?<< >>Yes.<< >>Good.<< Cayde stopped before you making you stopp as well. >>No quiet. These are the chambers of the Guardians. Three Guardians are sleeping in one room. How you three manage isn't our concern, just try to get along maybe you'll become good friends.<< He told you opening a room.
